ok i have asked this question before with limited response but now i have mroe details so here goes :)

punto 55sx

when doing 50+mph and slowing down there is a loud knocking noise that seems like its coming from the front drivers side area wheel maybe. the noise
gets further apart and quieter as speed decreases and then disapears below below 25mph or when you take foot of break.

any ideas ?

my sister will be very greatfull ps she said to say shes blonde and single if it will get her more replys lol

Same as i have, but mines passenger side and above 70mph. I checked my engine mounts and no luck. I was also told by a mechanic that he couldnt see any problems as all the wheels were secure..., and just to wait until it got worse or did it all the time. Be interesting to know if you find out what it is. ;)

Some suggestions ive had and might be worth checking:

Wheel bolts
Engine mounts - they melt out the edges apparently. ;)
Wires inside the engine bayIf diff wheels check they are central / use the spigot rings...

Does the car pull / wobble as mine doesnt in the slightest.

its my sisters car she sais it drives fine. there is no wobble and she cant feel the knock in teh steerinr. it just has standard wheels. and i checked te wheel bolts as i was last person to put them on so wanted to cover myself lol.

she is bookingit into mechanics in weeks time as she going to cornwall in it and knowing my sister she will be breaking speed limit all teh way there so she dont want wheels falling off. lol

if next week her mechanic finds something i will post back for ya
