i went today to have my front wheels balanced after fitting the 17's, after balancing i took the car for a spin and it was fine at 40 mph, i took it down the by pass and at 60 the car underneath starts rattling very bad and the stearing wheel violently vibrates along with the gear stick, like just behind the foot pedals is where the rattling is coming from, i slowed down as i feard for my life ...

i know there are a few things wrong with my car:
front disks need replacing as theres a lip begining to build on the edges.
my front tyres need replacing as there worn
my left front shock has gone... which i think makes the car pull to the left after pot holes

soon i will be having all this fixed and also getting it lowerd 40mm with a new suspension system,, however i do not think the problem will go,,, i am no car expert and i think there is somthing wrong inside the steering department ???

has anyone experienced steering problems,, a horrid noking noise over pot holes and over rough surfaces and when turning and going at speed is a nightmare,, the wheels are perfectly balanced aswell

the one problem with my fiat is that its to damn fast !!

get that shock and tyres sorted, check steering rack bolts are tight.
I was just wondering why didn't you post this in your Original thread?

Also check the control arm ball joints,

Have you got spacers fitted? The wheels might not be sitting exactly central on the hubs.
