I have a warning light that pops up on my punto every now and then. It looks like an open bonnet. (I've tried to attach the image).

We are having a few problems when we drive around as the reverse beep often sounds when we slow down or turn corners (when going forwards). Even the gear notifier shows "R".

Any help would be greately appreciated.

Presumably its an automatic. The fault is most likely a bad earth in a rear lights cluster confusing the gearbox electronics. It could also be the reversing light switch in the gear shifter but that's harder to get at, so do the easiest job first.

Clean all bulb holders and make sure the earth cables are clean where they bot to the body shell. Remove, clean, smear with Vaseline and refit.

Hi Whitesei,
Thanks for your advice. I pulled apart the rear lights and gave everything a clean and sanded the connections and made sure there wasn't any moisture and then pushed all of the fuzes hard in. The combo of that meant I didn't get the problem again. Greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris.
