New to this forum and hope you can help me.
My other half's 03 Mark 2 Punto went bonkers this morning when she started it.

The rear wiper turns itself on, the headlights come on (neither are actually turned on) and the engine is not holding revs when idle and cuts out. When I touch the brake the engine cuts out!!

Any ideas what the issue could be? The local Fiat service place is closed until Monday.

I'd guess it may be an issue with earthing. See if there's a mobile auto sparks working?

Would it have anything to do with, the connection on the back lights? I had to scrape off a bit of oxidization from the connections recently.

Could well be -- or the earth attachment on the rear (probably under the bumper).
