I just bought a punto the other week and its been working fine... well bar one problem of a strange noise, a loud strange noise which i have no idea whats making it or what could be making it. i'm pretty useless when it comes to engines and i have had a fiats machanic check the car over and he never noticed anything either. oh its a 1999 punto s 60 team 1.2 and its only done about 30000 miles so i dont think its age. not any real rust either (evil evil car cancer poor wee things) so anyone any ideas? it sounds kinda like a really loud induction kit with a higher pitch than the normal growl. and no i aint got an induction kit...yet.
thanks anouther thing while i think about it, what air filters are good for a 1999 punto... preferably cheap and not to much effort. i a student so i really aint looking to put much money into this and just want one for the noise to be honest. so in other words what good, cheap (under £40) and growly induction kits do u think i could get?
Eh, next question... this so much aint relating to my car but cars in general. i got a scratch on my door which wasnt anything to do with me, i've gotten rid of the little less deep ones however i still have a deeper long one on my passenger side door, what do you think they best option is to get that sorted? cheapness not so much a factor here as i wont be fixing it for awhile...although on saying that no-one say just replace the door or i will then come beat you wiv it lol just kiddin.
anything else...hmmm i dont think soo...
anyway, please hope someone out there is lovely and tells me what i need to know

thought of something else as well...
where can i get good and cheap window tinting in scotland, anywhere really just in scotland. and from a place thats both good and cheap. the cheap is more the issue as my punto looks so stupid without the huge back windows tinted lol.

Replace the door perhaps?

The noise could be a hole somewhere in the exhaust behind the silencer. I had a similar problem but had a reme metalsmith friend of mine (who's very handy with a welding kit and is also a dirty jock ) sort it out (cost me a few bottles of buck though...)

and If you want noise, just put yer foot down lol

yeah i already waste to much petrol from my foot on the floor lol.
i dont think it th exhaust, it dont sound exhausty lol. i thought for abit it might be the front passenger arm coz that where it sounds like it coming from. ah well will get ma michanic to look at it (yes i cant spell)
