Just traded in my 10 yr old Brava. I swore I would never have a Fiat again, but got seduce by a 3 yr old Punto 1.3 multijet. I do intend to buy a warranty on the internet, just in case, but I stilll can't believe I did it. I gave it a 10 mile test drive, on my own, and liked it. Am I puddled?

The 1.3 multi jet is an awesome engine you should be fine with it!!

the 1.3jtd in the mk2b punto is a stonking little engine, capable of upto 78mpg eek: ) and no less than 45mpg no matter how hard you drive it.
they do have a bit of turbo lag, but a remap from angel tuning would see to that


however getting an aftermarket warrenty is a bit of a waste of time, unless its practically free, or your paying £10 a month (no more) to include servicing.

only problems I can forsee you having is the standard feature of the electric steering rack failing.

That's interesting. First time I've been told a warranty is a waste, though I would hope any niggles have been sorted during it's 3 year life. I thought about £170 was a good deal for peae of mind? I didn't actually mind the turbo lag, my last diesel was a non turbo Fiesta which had everything lag.
