I have a Punto Evo 2011 with engine ecu 2009 on the ecu scanner. 1.4 8v petrol.
Water temperature gauge is working fine but when read ecu live data it read minus 40 and with getting the engine warmer live data read minus 38 and so on but dash board gauge is ok. Help please

My first guess would be your scanner isn't reading the data correctly given how the dashboard gauge Is working correctly as the engine coolant allmost certainly isnt 40 I'd think it would be frosen solid at those terms regardless of having antifreeze in

Whate device are you using to read those temps from the ECU?

Thanks for replying.
I use launch pro v 4.0 it has a full control even haydraulic unit calibration.
My fans works normally. There is only one fault [ p 0141] downstream o2 sensor.
The scanner reads everything right just this water temperature issue

I want to add that when the gauge moves away from cold the ecu read minus - 38 or - 36.
I live in a hot area in Egypt not less 20 Celsius degree

If the dial on the dash is reading correctly, sitting at the bottom when cold, raising up to about the midway point when warm then that suggests the correct data is being sent from the engine ECU to the canBus and being read by the dash ok. So honestly the main and most likely suspect is the reader you’re using.
