Airbag wires

After replacing stalk switch I have a airbag warning light so looked behind the airbag again and realised I havnt plugged the yellow connector in, but I cant find out where to plug the yellow airbag wire to? Any idea on where the yellow connector connects to?, I've connected the green one to the airbag but no idea for the yellow

Re: Airbag wires

I've just searched clockspring and looked in all the threads but cant find find an airbag with just the green connector it's always two connectors in the back of the airbag, I'm really stuck on what to do as theres no place for that yellow connector to plug into.

Re: Airbag wires

did your old clock spring only have one airbag wire?

The two wire set up is for Dual stage airbags, this means that depending on the severity of the accident the airbag will inflate different amounts.

The airbag in your picture is only a single stage airbag so therefore does not have two connections.

Re: Airbag wires

I'm not sure if I have the old clock spring I'll try and find it but I'm pretty sure it had the 2 wires aswell the yellow and green, I've only seen how to change a steering wheel thread on this forum where he had the single stage airbag but had the 2 wires and he has no airbag warning light when putting it all back together, I'm honestly lost on what to do next really as the code cant be reset it wont go away

Re: Airbag wires

As you can see below that guy that I followed for the tutorial also had 2 wires with the single stage airbag but he doesnt get an airbag warning light after assembling it all, and I'm sure I've installed it correctly as all my steering wheel buttons, horn, etc work

Re: Airbag wires

The airbag warning light wonít go away by plugging in the correct wire, you need to plug it in and clear the error, therefore you need to plug it in and see what the error is. If you didnít disconnect the battery or you disturbed the wiring after refitting the battery this could be the problem, it could also be nothing to do with the airbag and might be a connection under one of the seats which can happen with moving seats forward and back.

You need to plug it in and see what the fault is and then try and clear it, you only have a problem if you canít clear the fault on the ECU
