Start stop and climate control problem

Hi,

I recently bought 2010 Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 MultiAir 105ps. On my Punto i have automatic dual zone climate control (photo is not mine), when I set temperature to "LO" my start/stop doesn't work ( with no message, even if I turn off AC "snowflake button"). When set higher temperature for example 16 Celsius and etc. start/stop works perfectly fine. In cold weather its no issue, because heater is on and start/stop is working.

The problem is when is on LO setting engine didn't cuting out, if I set 16 celsius with AC on it also didn't cuts out. How to blow cold air from oustide without AC and start/stop to function well?

Hi Marius

I suspect the high loads of running the Aircon are just too much for your batteries capacity.

The sensors for stop.start constantly measure voltage.

Maybe disconnect the battery lead overnight..

This can reset the voltage sensors..

Possibly helping the vehicle shut down..and restart with the aircons demands.

Re: Start stop and climate control problem

Stop - start is a bit flaky with air con especially on fiats. If you want to cool the car down quickly and either the interior temp is high or it’s cool in the car but still very ophot outside the stop - start won’t work because the engine is needed to keep the car as cold as possible.

Used at its peek efficiency you should set the temp you want and leave it alone, Setting it to LO just runs the aircon constantly but it won’t get any colder because of the limitations in the system. If you’re struggling to get the cabin cool you may need an aircon recharge.
