The rear silencer box has failed on my 2010, 1.4 Evo
Easy I thought,I will ring my local exhaust motor factor and get a replacement
Not so easy after all, I have tried five local Motor Factors in the Colchester/Sudbury area (who stock systems) and they all come back with "their suppliers have not listed this item, you will need to go to a main Fiat dealer"
Surely after five years of this model, someone must have this on the shelf ?
or is there an alternative like the Grande Punto box ?

GBP 144. incl. shipping.
Top quality sports rear silencer, with choice of stainless steel end pipes, free shipping and available within about a week....!

Far to expensive for me as I intend to change this car before June 1st

Equiv Grande Punto rear box around £30 - £40 - that will do me for 2/3 months

I was going to sell my punto in October but decided I'm going to save up for another year for something even nicer! Thinking about spending £150 tops on a nice back box as thats less than a weeks wage (i only do part time) :)

Assume the car is long gone now?

This is listed for the 16V. Would it be safe for my 8V Evo?

Ultersport uses the same for both the 1,2 8V and the 1,4 16V.
So the answer is yes.
Don't expect your car to turn into a hypersports car with this silencer though...it's just the looks and quality, and a very small gain in somewhat "deeper" exhaust sound...

Go to a local specialist?

Mine has also corroded and going to Torqueflow in Birmingham who specialise in aftermarket exhaust. Quote on the phone is £200 - £300 where I can fully customise the sound + appearance.

This is probably more expensive then buying generic mufflers from ebay etc however can ensure I am 100% happy with the mod.

So I've just purchased this exhaust when their shop only offered the 1.2 8V & 1.4 16V (90bhp) options. I've now had a look again to see them offering the 1.4 8V (76bhp) exhaust which matches my car exactly.

Just wondering if the one listed for the 90bhp is gonna be safe for my 77bhp version. I know that they're both made for the 1.4 but I'm wondering if the compression is gonna be set up right?

Guess i'll find out when it arrives :p
I'll update this when it's all fitted to see what the quality is like and if there's any change in exhaust sound.

Ordering # is the same, so don't worry, you'll be fine!
Btw, which tailpipe did you choose?

Cool. I chose the 95x65 as it was a little cheaper than the dual pipes and it looks like a single pipe you'd find on a rally car.

So my Ulter "Sports" muffler arrived a few days ago and I've had it fitted today to replace the original rusting exhaust.

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much in regards to sound but this thing sounds fantastic. It gives a deep rumble on start-up and idles very nicely. Coming off the gas gives a deep winding down burbling noise too. Accelerating hard past 2.5k RPM will put a very big smile on anyone's face. £141 very well spent in my opinion.
