Hi all

My Punto 61 plate, its running fine, but it is struggling we the power then suddenly yellow engine light appears, and according to the manual it´s something with the ignition/and or fuel system!

Does anyone else had the same problem also?

Am putting in of a diagnostic test

How much would it be to get repair

Thank you

Hi, and welcome:)
plug into the diagnostic socket ( fuseboard - drivers right knee)

the code should highlight the problem, ;)
readers can be bought from @£15

I recommend "MultiECUScan" if you're keeping in the FIAT family..,

a common thing would be the Lambda probe in the exhaust detecting unburnt fuel / misfire ,
the cause of this could be MANY things..,

the Fault code is what you need ( £30 to £50 at a garage) so buying / borrowing a reader is a good investment..,

where is the car based..?

Amber engine light come on it goes off and amber triangle light come on a stills on. I bought one obd2 so I'll test it out on my day off. Still looking of the port to plug it in to

I had a similar thing with my punto. The oil level wasn't full enough. No red oil light, but experienced loss of power on incline and in the mornings was like the engine had to warm up before it had full power. My oil level was low, about 2 and a half pint too low. Topped up with selenia 5w40 I got from my closest dealer and it sorted out the problem.

attached is a pic of my dash when the lights came on. The lights went off, except for the triangle warning light. But all went away after a full engine restart.

Attached is a picture of the obdII port. All you have to do to access it is take off the trim in front of it.

-Open up the cubby hole and push the back of the button panel, behind the menu button first, towards you, this should pop out quite easily.

-once you've done that you need to pull the whole panel towards you, this will take slightly more force than the buttons, then you will have access to the port.
