Hi everyone.
I have just purchased a POWERBOX 2 chip for my EVO 135 multiair. I'm unsure as whether it was a good purchase or not?.
All started well Powerbox are an italian company who advertise a chip designed for the Punto EVO 135 turbo. Perfomance is increased to a respectable 165bhp and just plugs in. (Not bad at £120)..
When it arrived the instructions were very limited and in broken english. the images and instructions were for the Alfa mito, Punto 1.4 T-jet and Punto Abarth. I sent an e-mail to confirm this chip was compatable for the new multiair engine and not the t-jet.
After a few E-mail exchanges I was told the engine is the same as the abarth and should be connected in the same way.If unsure please get installed by a trained mechanic..
I installed the chip to the limited instructions and the led illuminated green to show install was correct. There are 10 settings 0-100 to choose from and the instruction recommend best results are between 30 - 60. However the car began to bog down at low speed and turbo boost limited. at 0 the car ran fine but felt no quicker than usual. The ECU light is on dash and the stop start is no longer working. The best setting was at 20. 50-80mph was very impressive but again low speed accelateration was compromised.
Has anyone had any experiance with this chip or any advise.:bang:
