Hello Again,

Following on from this thread..

https://www.fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=50797

and thanks to CheeseMaster for posting up pic's of his slidy rear seat!

I've now driven the Panda diesel (review to follow) and got this deal from my local Fiat garage.

-Fiat Panda 1.3D in mamba yellow with blue interior
-Aircon pack (manual aircon, roof bars etc.)
-split/fold slidy rear seat
-tank of diesel
-set of mats
-0% interest free over 4yrs with 30%deposit.

£8,000 exactly on the road.

I think this is quite a reasonable deal, especially allowing for the 0%, which means I can earn @£500 interest in that time.

I know I can get the car cheaper via a broker like Broadspeed etc.. but not sure if I can get interest free with them.

Penny for your thoughts anyone?

Thanks again guys

Thats similar to the deal we have just done. £8495 for the car with 30% deposit and 4 years 0% finance.

We even looked at the same car for £6988 and if we could have paid the cash up front would be a great deal but with the interest then the deal at fiat was better :)

So you have a good deal there.

H collects the car in the next few days (y)

So you got about £700 off list price, which is about the same deal I got.
Like you, I've gone for interest free. I could have got a loan and got the car cheaper, but the interest on the loan would be about £700.
At least your spec shows that they can do aircon on the Multijet. I wish they had it on the Sporting :(

Plus buying off an internet company like Autofinders/Broadspeed/DTD, then going to your local dealer with it is a bit, I dunno - iffy. Any warranty work will seem like theyre doing it because they have to, not because you're a valued customer to them.

Thats one regret I have of buying mine off the net, if I ever need any warranty jobs that is.

Maybe you can just get "aircon" on the sporting for £500 as opposed to the £550 aircon pack? Obviously the Sporting already has the roof bars et al? Would have liked alloys but then costs are beginning to rise..

Thanks for the answers everyone. Very helpful Forum and being the Panda section, nicely devoid of "I beat this.." posts.

Over on www.HonestJohn.co.uk I posted the same query and to be honest the general consensus of opinion is that my deal isn't that great. So I've followed up a few leads and sure enough I can beat my £8K deal but with no evidence that I can get the finance. I don't actually need the finance but its attractive obviously as I can earn £450ish interest.

Anyway, best of the lot so far is from www.fiatsupasaver.com at @ £7250 with the options (no tank of fuel and no mats!). This is a good saving. Then Broadspeed at £7374 and DrivetheDeal at £7504 (and they suggest finance is possible so that would be £500 saving)

I will wait for responses and see how it pans out. I'll also ask the dealer to do another deal for a straight buy and see if he can get anywhere near £7250 from SupaSaver.

Anyone had any dealings with fiatsupasaver (Or others)

Thanks for all the replies everyone:)

Well I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you are prepared to go finance free.

I'd check the clauses on the finance deals too - I had to buy one finance company out of a contract I had on a car in the 90s because they insisted on checking the car for perfect condition at 66% of finance remaining and told me I needed to get the bonnet resprayed after they discovered half a dozen pin sized stonechips, and the interior valeted or buy out the contract. Taking the pee really because the interior was fine and the stonechips should have come under normal wear and tear and touch up paint should have sufficed. (*)

(*) The finance company went into receivership a month later so I ended up paying the company that had really underwritten the money ( layers of onions anyone? ) in order to own my car. I suspected at a time it was a desperate attempt to get all their customers to pay up or prepare the cars for impending receivership as part owned company assets. Since then, I've never touched car finance preferring a straight bankloan if I'm short.

Good point actually about the finance. I guess there are more layers of uncertainty about who actually owns the car!

Funnily enough I have woken up this morning favouring a straight purchase without the 0% finance. Therefore dealer must get near supasavers £7250 or at least come down a bit more if I do stick with the finance offer.

I thought many of the brokers put you in touch with a Fiat dealer, i.e. you buy your car direct; the broker acts as a 'middle man'. In such instances the deals offered by Fiat (along with the saving offered by the broker) can both be had.

I thought that too, but I have found that neither FiatSupaSaver.com or Broadspeed could offer the 0% finance deal offered by the main dealers.

No one can source me a bl00dy car anyway. Its got to be a factory order therefore 6-8wks min. Feeling a bit down now.

If anyone know a broker who will offer the 0% in addition to the good price please post up here.

Thanks guys

At least if you have a 6 week wait you know its not someone elses immediate reject ( yes, this happenned to me once - not had a lot of luck lol ) that suddenly becomes available.

STOP PRESS!!

Now got two deals onthe table from the dealer for the following car

-Brand new Panda 1.3D multijet.
-"hard man's" vanilla yellow with blue interior trim!
-aircon pack (£550 option - includes roof bars, side rubbing strips, manual aircon etc..)
-magic split fold sliding seat (£200) option
-tank of diesel
-set of Panda mats

Deal 1) £8K OTR - 30% down and 4yrs interest free (interest free means I can earn @ £450 in the meantime)

And just come back with this following a challenge..

2) £7350 OTR - straight purchase

So we're talking about £200 saving over 4 yrs buying it up front. Not much but saves the hassle of a finance agreement etc..

Think I'm gonna go option 2). £7350 OTR with the options, tank of fuel etc.. Reckon that's a good deal after a day or so of effort.

That was from your original dealer was it? Well done - Just not sure about your choice of colours... ;) If you HAD to have blue and yellow, I'd prefer blue trim with yellow interior, but then it's not my car is it? :p
Happy driving!

Yep - original dealer. Re: colours - I don't like either of the blues and Guacamole green isn't really me. so that left Mamba yellow. I've seen a few on the internet so that was my favourite - and they definitely look better with the roof bars and side strips IMHO. As for the interior, yellow will show too much dirt so that leaves blue! Job done. £7350. good price I think

:yeahthat:

I thought the same about the yellow interior and ordered the blue. When my car arrived in, as if by magic the seats were yellow . I grew to like the yellow. It kind of woke you up in the morning.

Now ordered!
1.3 Multijet diesel
yellow with blue interior
aircon pack
split fold slidy seat
Panda mats
tank of derv
£7350 OTR brand new

Good effort from Olympian in Bournemouth, Brett in particular
