Should the flap cycle fully when the ignition is turned? I got a tiny movement first time and then nothing subsequent times.

It hardly opens under throttle. There is the engine failure fault so is this part of limp home mode or broken throttle body?

Turns out that the issue I had was a combination of damp in the ECU plugs and the battery running dead.
Once the battery is kept charged and the plugs were blown dry with an air line all was well.

isn't the 05 version still cable operated ? mine is


depending how the car was stopped I get a small buzz from the idle control valve the first time the ignition is switched on. but not on the third or any after.
