Hi,

I recently changed my alternator belt on my Panda but unfortunately the 'protective wheel liner which prevents water splashing onto the belt/alternator cracked. I've done a botch repair which is temporary, but does anyone know where I could find a replacement, or even know if a Punto MK2 splash guard would fit?

Thanks.
Matt.

Unlikely that a Punto one would fit, as this is specific for the inner wing shape.

Looking at ePER, it appears that the right hand one is one single piece, part number 46849139, cost around £50.

Not a normal replacement part, so its either new, from a dealer, or try some breakers. Its the sort of thing most breakers would ignore or dispose of, so might be quite cheap.

Thanks Portland Bill,

I had a look at the part number 46849139 but it's for the wheel arch liner. It's hard for me to explain the part exactly, but it attaches to the inner side of the wheel arch, protecting mud/water from splashing from the wheel onto the drive belt and alternator.

I cannot find the part anywhere and it appears difficult to find, even looking through FIAT's catalogue.

Probably easiest to source the likes of that from a scrapyard.

I can't view my car at this time, as it is away for a few weeks, but from memory when I changed the cambelt, there was no additional parts other than the wheelarch liner. Are you sure this is a separate part? I cannot see anything extra on ePER, so a scrappy seems to be your only option.

Hi guys,

You're correct Portland Bill, the wheel arch (sits above the wheel) doesn't move for obvious reasons but the panel behind the wheel (it's in an L-shape) and also goes under the belt to protect from splashes etc..

I phoned some scrap yards up who never had the part in. Some didn't have any Pandas in either. So I contacted FIAT who said they don't stock the part, but have put one on order. I can pick it up on Thursday for the sum of £22.50.

I thought it would have been more expensive.

Matt.
