like a lot of new panda 1.1 active eco owners here - just wandering what the first service might cost me? I'll have probably done 10000 miles in 12 months? Any help would be great - plus what would I be getting for my money????

So the first service after 12months and 10,000 miles will only be oil and filter??? is this right?? How much does the oil and filter (fiat recommended parts of course) cost over the counter??

Thanks.

When my old yella one went in for its first years service they said cos its low mileage all that needed doing was short service..so all it had basically was an oil/ filter change/bits and bobs..and it was well cheap considering its a dealer..mine has always done well for me tho..I get treated like one of the family.. :D

Just make sure they dont put the wide range oil in it..;) tell them you want 10w/40 20k in the sump please..

{ check the stores before you go in to see if they have it in stock ..they cant say we dont have any then} ;)

10-W40 semi synth oil and the correct oil filter would come to about £20. You have to be careful as there are 2 different oil filters for the 1.1 engine and sometimes even Fiat dealers are not sure which is the correct one.
However, do the service yourself and risk a rejection of any warranty issues.

My mechanic friend has told me that as long as genuine parts are used and a fully qualified mechanic carries out the service then NOT taking your fiat to the dealer does in no way effect your warranty.

Can anyone also back this up ?

Must also be a Vat registered business and use genuine fiat spares and follow the service schedule given out by fiat in the hand book..(y)

Well I'm on the south coast if that helps, and so far I have only one 'quote' of £99... or £20 plus labour which must include VAT!

does anyone else have any experiences please??

I disagree.
The first year service would only include oil and oil filter, plugs would be changed at 2 years and air filter at 3 years.
In addition, in my region, the North East, it would cost about 25% more than your suggested £99.

Yes sorry you are absolutely correct...thought I was in 500 section:eek:

Quick check showed Arnold clark garages do first panda service for £89 so expect others to follow suit/price match.

£89 sounds great - roughly the same as the parts plus an hours labour - lets hope my local dealer is interested in matching this!

Thanks for all your help.
