Does anyone have a set roof rails, bars and roof box for a Panda that they have laying about, and would like to hire them to me for the first 2 weeks in August?

I don't fancy paying over £300 for it all, just to get 2 weeks use out of them, so if any one would like to help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

:D

I have the rails, non-standard as I bought them in Lidl for a pittance. I also have a huge roofbox which I bought to use on a Ford Maverick, the one like a Nissan Terano 2 not the Mazda derivative.
I live in Sunderland and you can use them for nowt if you get yourself over here and see if they fit.
Private email if you think it's worth your while.

Won't that box be a bit massive on a little Panda?

Do the roof rails on Panda's pop/screw out, I know someone (father-in-law) with a 4x4 Panda but he's a miserable git and won't loan me the rails

Box is about 1.5M. long and 0.9M. wide, so very big.
Rails on a 4x4 Climbing are removed by firstly, carefully, removing plastic caps, then unbolting.
I think maybe this box is too big for a Panda.

slightly off-topic: I hadn't realised the 4x4's rails could be removed: I'd always assumed they were fixed from inside, and 'bolted on' as the car was assembled. Given that I lock my Thule cross rails to the roof rails, does this mean anyone with a spanner can simply unbolt the rails anyway, bypassing the locks??
Pete
Yes.
There are plastic caps at each end that can be very carefully prised off if you don't want to damage them (or yanked off if you're a thief), revealing the bolts that allow removal of the bars.

By the way, Dave, you can get a set of cross bars that fit Pandas without roof rails, mounting either to Fiats holes or clamping to the roof edge at the door openings (I have this arrangement for my Multipla)... check eBay, several there at around the £50 mark

Yes, I've seen them, but was a bit unsure as they are different from the ones designed for the Panda, think they would be OK?

Saw some Fiat roof rails for the Panda go for nearly £110 the other week on Ebay

Got a roofbox sorted, a local trailer place hires them out, £50 for 2 weeks, so will probably go for that (y)

Need the damn roof rails now...

One set on Ebay, but loads are bidding on them
:bang:

Hi Dave, I've got some bars you can borrow if you like, I can live without them for a fornight or so I guess :)
