Hi gang< Ive not been able to log on here for ages so please bear with me . I've got the ESC ABS EDL warning lights up on the dash and I'm guessing that its something to do with one of the ABS sensors. This has happened intermittently over a few months but not as bad as it is now. The car has not been used for a couple of weeks so with the prospects of frost in the morning I took the car out. It was far from fun sliding around even with winter tyres all round without any ESC ABS or 4x4 . Any help would be great....Thanks, Col

Do you mean you have:
red 'brake' warning light, yellow 'ABS' and yellow 'ESC' lights all on?

The instruction book shows this combination to mean a failure of the electronic brake force distribution system (EBD), and has the following important warning:
"In this case the rear wheels may suddenly lock and the vehicle may swerve when braking hard. On certain versions and message is displayed. Drive very carefully to the nearest Fiat dealership to have the system inspected immediately"

If I were you, I'd get that checked out, soon!

cinqy boy you still have Warrington Motorpark near you?! Not worth risking your life, could be easily identified and fixed. Let us know how you got on. (y)

I totally agree with Al. Get it sorted. I had a similar failure in my mothers car. It was dangerous as the rear wheels locked under anything other than light braking. At speed this may result in a very serious accident. Lots of warning lights may just be something else but it is not worth the risk. With EBD there is now mostly no rear load sensing mechanical valve to limit rear braking. EBD failure is therefore a serious issue.

I had a similar fault and traced it to a faulty brake light switch. Replaced the switch and all functions returned.
