Happy 2020 to all Pandas
and a bit of an update on my 2018 TA "ordinary" 4x4
You may recall I don't do many miles in the Panda, (1 scooter, 9 motorbikes, 2 electric bikes 1 other car and a partridge....oops a camper van, means I have other choices!)
Anyway over the Christmas break we did our multi-annual pilgrimage 'oop North covering 689 miles at an average speed of 43 mph and an average mpg of 43.2 mpg. (All according to the computer) Mostly motorways and A roads with a couple of lanes and odd bits. The car was loaded to capacity with the back seats down and luggage, sleeping bags, walking boots, and food and presents for all family members filling the back, part way up the windows. The car has now done 6362 miles in total and wherever possible the car was cruising at 70 and 70plus. It seems to be freeing up well but I have a feeling it can still improve, I never used "Eco". and not a drop of oil was used, but the oil is becoming a little darker (I can see it on the dipstick now.) Weather was mixed with quite a lot of dry motorway but some heavy rain at times and fog, especially going from Holmfirth over Holm Moss to Stockport.
The car coped brilliantly with everything as I expected but I was hoping to have a play in some snow, but no luck there.
My Brother-in-law and his son had planned a (motorbike ) ride out for me as usual and I borrowed his Deauville for the day. What I had not planned on was that "son" had an early start at work and we set off in pouring rain at 7.00am. 7.00AM I ASK YOU middle of the blooming night, what is more we didn't get a coffee and bacon butty halfway as "son" had to get back!. I managed to remind myself at regular intervals that I was riding for pleasure. One of the Derbyshire roads that I had not ridden before confirmed most definitely that it was for pleasure and I shall go back, hopefully with one of my own bikes at some time, though B-I-L's Deauville was welcome with fairing and heated grips
Anyway Happy New Year. to all our Readers 2020 is going to be a good'un
