Wonder what the price difference will be, post-Brexit (if it ever happens...)

Just asking.

Re: I fear we're still being had

Funnily enough I've had a phone call and a letter from Parks in Irvine inviting me for a chat etc and a written offer of £5000 for my Panda and zero percent finance against a new Panda. On the call they said they are pushing the Panda heavily with high trade ins and finance deals to selected customers. We'll see. I'm not changing though.

Re: I fear we're still being had

Looking at the French site, prices are about the same as above, I think TTC, but not sure. However, those prices include Ä3700 of reductions (on the 4x4), Ä2000 of which is from the government for scrapping an old car.

I was typing out this post to ask "What would the cost of buying it in Spain, driving it back and re-registering it be?" before I realised they've got the steering wheel wrong over there.... perhaps that's Fiat's way of making it worth their while selling a RHD model here? Lol

IIRC regulations require that if you went there and ordered a right hand drive car they have to sell you it at local rates. However all taxation and registration fees would be applicable when it landed at the dock here. Also the spec may be different and insurance can be more expensive.

You could always buy a low-miles used. There's the perfect one for you on home turf just a few miles drive in the country. It's missing climate control and privacy glass and is £700 more than I paid last year for a pre-reg but....

Re: I fear we're still being had

Morning All. I've just joined this forum as, as of later today, I'll be the proud owner of a brand new Panda Cross 4x4 multijet.
This post caught my eye as I'm in Spain. you may be interested to know that I've paid the equivalent of £13,800 (list is a whopping £20k). Unfortunately, there wasn't much choice of spec as the multijet diesel has just been dropped in the Spanish market for all Pandas and 500s!!

Just asking.

Probably about 5 grand once the £ has slumped and duty has doubled! Still it won't affect many people as so few bought cars from the EU.

The one saving grace is UK may start building cars for home consumption again.

BL can rise from its ashes, Corbyn can nationalize it and hey presto we will have progressed back to 1974. Who likes progress anyway.......

I have a perfect business opportunity for anyone with a power boat and low moral sense!

Bloody good show.

One thing is TOTALLY certain the deal is good for them and probably not good for you.

Change when you want to or need to. Weigh such offers with caution!

The £ has already slumped! Irrespective of any changes to import tariffs, anything we buy that originates outside of the UK (including products that are manufactured within the UK, but use components sourced from outside the UK) will inevitably get more expensive over time. Maybe not in the short term, as sellers/suppliers try to hold down prices to remain competitive, but in the long term, as consumers, we are screwed, unless the £ recovers.

I find it remarkable that despite doing so poorly, the £ is still much more value than the Euro! Still, I have faith it will bounce back.

Like all currencies it can fluctuate up and down and thatís just itís nature.

I think regardless of the outcome of Brexit, I hope the news stop it with their horror stories and political biases - I reckon that has way more to do with peoples decisions than anything factual / fiscal does at the minute

Not all that much more value...

See the very telling chart in this report, tracking the £'s value against the Euro since 1999, and weep.

I agree with the other sentiment in your post, that we badly need an evidenced approach to these complex issues, rather than political posturing and lies (on all sides).

They say that we get the politicians we deserve, but what have we done to deserve this shower?
