General What did you do with your Panda today?

I've seen people talking about clay bars but really don't know what's involved. How do you do it? Is this something different to using a polish with a very mild "T" cut type abrasive? - Which is what I've always done when I want to clean up slightly "dull" paintwork.

I first read that as "DAY bar" and could not believe that a Scot would not know what to do with a "Bar" !!!!
Cheers Jock, as a sassenach I will nevertheless raise a "wee dram" this evening:yum:

Unfortunately I’ve listed mine for sale today! It’s on the forum first before it goes on autotrader. ?

Moved it out of the garage on to the drive to make room for a bike about to be MOT;d. Panda is still SORNED and still has not had it's first service.
At this rate it will die of old age before it gets used!! ARRRRGH.

Had a lie down underneath mine looking up at the sump-guard, wondering what exactly is involved to remove it?
If I can get it off I'll de-rust it and paint it. I heard they're a pig to remove and tend to get rusted in... which beggars the question why? Has nobody heard of Waxoyl?

(I swear by the stuff and wet-assemble everything that comes apart and goes back together with Waxoyl - I bought back my 40 year old MG Midget four years ago having foolishly sold it 20 years ago! All the things I had assembled with Waxoyl came apart as if I'd assembled them only yesterday!)

Today I clayed the car - good job I did it was absolutely caked in tree-sap. Washed it, dried it, then gave it a damned good waxing (Colinite845)

(The clay is gettting a bit old and glue-like but just about did the job. new stuff on order)

After that, the glass was cleaned, and Rain-X applied to the mirrors, side and rear windows.
The FIAT Forum stickers had arrived in the post (at long-last!) just in time to get applied after the glass cleaning session. Quality stickers... but a bit tricky to apply.

This evening, I filled the car up with fuel, recorded the total mileage and the amount of litres I put in since I last filled it up, and I've worked out that my TwinAir is returning approximately 38.4955752 MPG.

I live in the hills and drive about 14 miles undulating countryside with a few traffic light stops at various points on the way to work every day. I've not used 'eco' and the air con has been on for some of those journeys.
I've also been driving in a fairly 'spirited' manner - ie not trying to drive economically whatsoever, though I do coast downhill sometimes depending on traffic and conditions etc

I know this is nothing like FIAT's claim of 60+mpg which I understand is seldom, if ever, achieved, so I've no idea if that's good or bad for these cars
