Re: short changed new order?

That's crazily impressive customer service. I might expect it from Ferarri, but I can't say I'd expect it from Fiat. That's not to say I don't think they should do it, but I'm very (pleasantly) surprised by it!

Re: short changed new order?

It was completely dealer led. Nowt to do with Fiat themselves.

Re: short changed new order?

That makes more sense. You'd still be getting told 'they're the correct wheels and tyres for the Cross, Sir' if you were dealing direct with Fiat (UK). However even the dealers don't usually deliver that level of service - i'm impressed!

Re: short changed new order?

Off topic I know, but slightly connected.
We have ordered a Jeep Renegade. On 27/4 dealer offered 0% PCP deal on privilege purchase scheme. On 7/5 confirmed order over phone and deposit paid. Later dealer emails to say 0% no longer available, it's now 0.9% and the repayment will now be ......
After much emailing back and forth, I have just told them that unless Jeep finance honour the original offer we will not be proceeding.
Am I being unreasonable or are they?

Latest is that the dealer MD is talking to Jeep. They either want a (32k) sale or they don't as far as I'm concerned.... Trouble is, the car is what we want, there is nothing else remotely of interest other than disco sport and that wayyyy to expensive)

Re: short changed new order?

They're changing the deal after the deposit has been paid? Then they are.

If you've been been proposed and accepted for The finance then they should honour the deal you signed up to. More FCA shenanigans!

We looked at the Jeep, but went for a Yeti in the end and do not regret the decision at all!

Latest is that the offer was apparently only open for 48 hours! Well the salesman never mentioned that..... Going to cancel today and get deposit back

If the 4x4 TA hadn't appealed I'd have gone for a Yeti, though it's on the large side for me.

Re: short changed new order?

Disgraceful conduct by the dealer. Take your business elsewhere. It's the only way they'll learn.

As for the 4x4 alternatives, I've had the same dilemma as you - ideally I wanted something bigger than a Panda, but the wife won't consider a Yeti (the first one she saw was red, and now she refers to them as Postman Pat's car), I wasn't smitten with the Renegade, Tiguans are totally boring (both to look at and to drive), the new Disco Sport is too expensive, etc.

I'm going to take a look at the new Seat Ateca when it finally lands in the UK (we've had several Seats, and they've been great).

Re: short changed new order?

Well as coincidence would have it, I've just had a similar thing happen to me.
Just got a quote for a new polo GTI and filled in the former to order. Get an email back saying that vw just pulled the deal and would I like to check their Web site for an alternative.

In fairness, they are telling the truth as if I check contracthireandleasing.com the many results of under 175 a month have all gone and similar contract terms are all now over 225.

So you snooze you loose and it is written in the small print "subject to availability etc." but it does say in the main print quote valid for 7 days.

In another similar thing, this one really drives me mad. I'm trying to book a holiday for summer. Being a family of 6 we tend to book villas and get separate flights.
The amount of times on certain sites like owners direct that you get a result with "your dates are available" then you get a follow up email after you've hit the book button.
"The dates you've requested are no longer available, however, we have availability in this (**** no one wants) villa. Bait and switch.

Drives me mad. You can usually spot them as the calendar shows total availability throughout the season even though the owner/agent updated the calendar today.
