Haha! yes proper hero but it was was his/his best mates fault for showing it to me on ebay!

He likes to think it was a pain in the arse but secretly i know he was really chuffed! One of his favourite cars too!

Its cool that your Dad likes your car. My dad fairly vocally thinks mine is rubbish.

Phew! end of what must be at least 1000 mile road trip. First to see Pandamonius Maximus to get a ride in his Y10 Turbo engined Marbella which in mental (y) A quick natter and fotos and turf spare Turbo engine and gearbox out of the boot. Then onto Devon & Dartmoor. Highlights include North Devon roads which are fantastic compared to what i'm used to. Wonderfully twisting and reasonably surfaced. A blonde on a Traction Engine, and overtaking 2 muscle cars travelling in convoy on the M6 was also good. Heres the wee motor on Dartmoor with some Wild Ponies in the back ground. It proved perefectly happy to sit at 80 all day if need be.

The only fly in the ointment was the electrics which dont seem to be at all happy about the new HU. Its tricks include the clutch pedal affecting the temperature gauge. It overeads until you press the clutch in which makes gearchanging very desirable in hot traffic. And its back to its old tricks of flashing the handbrake warning light in time to the music which I have managed to capture on video so if anybody has any suggestions I would appreciate it!!!

I always wondered how much of a chance I would stand of surviving a shunt in my little car. Now I know......

Its entirely dependant on the speed it was doing but its done better than I thought it might considering its an offset impact. Not something i'm in any hurry to test with my car though

Liking the look of the ARB bushes Kris. Which ones did you go for?

Also one of my gas front dampers has totally failed so have gone back to standard oil filed ones until I can find suitable replacements. There are some cheap gas ones on ebay, where did you get yours?

Keep up the good work

Dave

They are Superflex generic 15mm bushes with about 6mm hack sawed off the base. I put a little build thread here https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-classic/320139-polybushing-your-y10-anti-roll-bar.html

Ah the front shocks  They are just oil filled Delphis. They just happen to come in a jazzy colour.

Yay :) The Y10 has been allowed in from the cold. It will be nice not to feel like an interloper. Cheers to mod John and those he consulted with. A few update piccies are in order to celebrate, nothing major. New rear anti roll bar bushes and clamps have arrived and will be fitted when I have a chance. And a few pics of the interior as i'm quite chuffed with my digestive biscuit alcantara and red cloth upholstery.

Everything on the suspension should look like that  That would look sweeeet! :slayer:

Its going that way already, red springs, shocks, d bush brackets. I think that the calipers and drums will be next for a lick of red paint as they have suddenly become a lot more visible :D

I'd been meaning to get a comparison photo with a new Ypsilon for ages. But they decided not to wait any longer and they came to me. The Y10 almost looks a little dull by comparison. Also found a use for the cubbies in the back of the radio panel. Extremely obvious in retrospect that's what they were for!

I still prefer the Y10 :p

Plus don't think I've said it (or at least not enough) but those wheels do really suit it. They look better on the Y10 than they do on a Monte (y)
