Hi, does anyone out there know of an alternative supplier of rear propshaft centre bearings/rubbers? I'm too scared to ring the main dealer, as I've heard the genuine ones cost more than I paid for the car!

dealer only Cost about £70 +vat and like hens teeth to get hold of even from a dealer if you are lucky or buy the whole prop from a scrap yard with the bearings attached if you are lucky you may find one

Never seen the the prop shaft bearing, but if it's not too unusual measure it careful and see if SKF can supply an equivelant. Could be worth a shot.

thanks mate, unfortunately there are 2 rubber blocks either side of the bearing, its all kind of joined together in one nasty lump! its the rubber blocks that break up, not the bearing. thanks again anyway, jim.

Ahem,, I am currently selling a full propshaft assembly on ebay.

what are the 4x rubber bits like?

Not sure on the rubbers but apparently Pandafan has a very tight shaft

It's always been kept well lubricated

They reconned my entire Prop shaft to brand new for £150 so the rubbers they put on should be no problem!
They're one of the formost Prop manufacturers in Europe too.
