hi, where did you get the LED strips for the footwells? i like that yours is a strong colour, i dont want to buy something and it gives off poor light. thanks

Hey James - I bought them off ebay mate.
Seller doesn't trade anymore otherwise I would have sent you link (n) but they are USB powered and the seller was offering 2 for £15 or something like that.
Actually have a spare pink strip if you want that off me lol!
Powered through my cig lighter with multi output USB port.

Great looking GP, and big thumbs up for doing everything yourself! (y)

CHEEEEEERS man!
It's just great that there are so many people out there that appreciate the mods and don't just think - "chav" or "pikey"
All about DIY! Possibility of tinting windows on my own next... little nervous about doing that though.
See a tonne of tutorials online, so check on this thread as I'm thinking of attempting it next week or 2 when I order in the tints. (y)

ah thats ok, thanks for the reply!

was it a small strip or was it one of these reels with the strips on them. really dont want to buy some and it be cheap looking. yours look really strong with a nice colour.

Thanks dude, always appreciate the comments.

It was a strip with 3M sticky tape on the back.
I haven't actually attached them on, only used a couple of wire ties under the footwell to give it some light.
The whole thing wasn't expensive, I believe it was below the £30 mark, possibly lower.

General consensus Fiat GP owners.

I've got my MOT in the next few days.

Do I service or not?
I serviced the car last year Jan and it has been every year since it was born (2006)

GP has done 18,000 in last year.
Haven't noticed any problems with it.
Need to clear Hill Holder Light that is pi55ing me off still!

Just wondered as it's £220 ish I think for MOT+Service (last year) possibly more this year.
Or simply £25 for MOT

Yes 100%! Never skip a service, especially if youve done 18k in a year!

Maths fail - I've done 7,000 miles in last year.
So will skip service till next year.

Yes. Do it. Not only is it wise to do so any way but you will undoubtedly notice a difference in the way it drives after not having a service for so long

As above - thanks for advice, I've actually done 7,000 miles, not 17,000 miles so will leave it be for this year and do a service next year.

red with white wheels, very rally look! nice!

cheers buddy!

- UPDATE -

MOT TODAY!

GP Owners help!

Car just failed MOT :(

1.) Needs 2 new tyres
- I have 2 different sized tyres they have said, odd as they didn't pick this up one the MOT I did last year?!

2.) New front coil spring as current one broken.

3.) Electronic stability system warning lamp indicates a fault.
- This is the warning yellow triangle! Don't know how to get rid, flashes up and says Hill Holder Unavailable :(

4.) Got done for wiring under dash (whoops) this will be my footwell lighting, will have to take that out for next MOT lol!

Getting quoted £300 possibly a little more to get this done next Weds.
- 2x new tyres
- 1x new coil
This ok for pricing?

Did they say what tyres they would be? The tyres would be the main factor in that price, so it's hard to say if that's a good price without knowing what tyres they are, but for that price I'd expect good ones.

Also, if it were me I'd get both front springs replaced at the same time, if one has failed the other could follow soon after, and replacing both at the same time will keep things nice and even.

To be honest I think with a bit of shopping around and depending on what tyres you go for you could get the tyres and spring changed for £200.

P.S. I would strongly advise not skipping a service! You might save some money now, but you'll regret it in the long run.

That's exactly it man! I shopped about and am now getting on Monday:
4 tyres (I believe they are lower mid range - not budget)
2 new springs both front
all labour included
£400

Yeah great advice, front spring was broken so I opted for both springs to be replaced. £80 for the springs, £70 for the labour, so I've paid £150 for this.

That means £250 for 4 tyres and fitting. Oh my wallet :bang::bang::bang:

But hey, that's what you pay! Right... where are those lottery numbers... :worship:

New tyres (all 4) and front coils (front 2) being fitted tomorrow!

MOT retest on wednesday.

I failed on having "Hill Holder unavailable" on the dash message, which is the yellow triangle on the left.
Inspector put - ESP light on.

But... surely as it's only a feature of the car and not an integral part of driving it should be a pass?...

After digging around a little and calling a few garages.

I found out the below changes on MOT last year...

Electronic Stability Control
Checks of antilock brakes will be extended to include Electronic Stability Control if fitted. The tester will check for the presence and correct operation of the ESC malfunction warning light together with looking for obviously missing, excessively damaged or inappropriately repaired or modified components and electrical wiring, as well as an ESC switch missing, insecure or faulty.

The Full list can been found on below weblink:

SO HEADS UP PEOPLE, I got done on MOT for this!!!

MOT Passed.

£407 in total in repairs.

FYI peeps, if you have a Hill Holder Fault... find a wall...
...not just any wall, a sturdy brick one and go like this :bang:

If that doesn't work then do what I did:
- Get the fault checked out
- MOT people only charged me £7 to plug it in and clear it
- Said it was front driver side sensor, intermittent fault (this was over 4 months ago - oops!)
- Cleared it and passed MOT
:worship:

Next mod is Tinted Windows, yes I am going to do them myself (crazy?)
Keep you posted as I'm waiting for the tints to arrive in the next few days.

Satsumi! GP so far!

Been a while since I last posted on here!

I'm having mega radio problems at the moment, as in, it will turn on sometimes when I start the car and cut out several times during the journey.
Then when I take the keys out sometimes it will stay on.

- Can't be fuse related
- Head unit works fine as checked it on my mates
- Back end wiring from connector to battery?

Any advice on rewiring a car is appreciated.
Am based in Hertfordshire, so could get it fixed but people quoting £60 just to look at it!
