Panda (Classic) Just bought a 4x4

Introduction

Hi everyone
Yesterday I agreed a deal on a little red 4x4 that was listed on eBay.
It’s an Italian car and rust free (if that’s even possible) and looks to be a well sorted example.
It will be replacing my little East German Trabant that I will need to sell to make room.
I have always fancied one of these since seeing them on the Amalfi Coast and have previously owned a classic 500, but to be honest I never got on with so that did not stay around long.

Very annoying- the seller won’t ship to the U.K.
so I am still looking for a supplier of a grey or black carpet.
Speak to an auto trimmer perhaps? I have a tame one who did good work for me on a seat.

Yes I will look at other options, to be fair on the seller he would send it but it’s £250 shipping. So that would be £450 ish for a new carpet.

Not sure it’s really worth it.
Easy enough for a specialist to do to your exact spec, I'd suggest - it's not difficult to strip out to do the job after all! :)

Try these:
They deal in new, remanufactured and recovered/used…im also trying to find my link to a Polish site that does older Fiat stuff

Well I picked the car up today and drove back from Colchester to Hertfordshire without incident 😊

As you might expect, there was quite a lot of road noise from the tyres at motorway speeds.

Tomorrow I will get a chance to have a good look at her.
Road noise still a weak point on the new Panda Cross. But you can improve it without a huge cost.

Go on please...
Wel I am thinking of the self adhesive aluminium sheet with bitumastic material and sound deadening felt which can be bought on a roll. I am thinking of doing the job of the bulkhead, as far as accessible, the floor pand and the rear wheel arches. I will do a thread when I finally get round to it. Thw wheeler dealers did a CHevvy pick up and got a 6dB reduction. That equates to reducing 'noise' by may be 2/3 as 2 dB increase is a doublimng opf the sound power. I shall take a few readings and up date. I find the engine does not cause issues on a long run, it jsut disappars into the background as you cruise. The road noise is however loud. Fitting the 3ms secondary D door seals already made life quieter cutting noise anough to be noticably less.

Crack on, very interested in this. Road noise over rough surfaces is my only issue with mine.

Rough smooth... its just plain loud Im sure a day and £60 should improve matters. Now I have my challenge.

In my case with nobly tyres is always going to have road noise and I am fine with that.
However, if I do change the carpet I will make sure there is sound deadening fitted.
