"Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

First of all, I'd like to thank all you lovely members for the help, as pretty much any problem I've had has been already addressed on the forums! Anyway, my first motor:

Grande Punto 90hp 6 speed 1.3l MultiJet
Came with parking sensors and a lovely SkyDome, although this time of year isn't really giving it the justice it deserves. Only done just over 29k when I got it but I've already put 2k on in less than 2 months

De-Punto'ed the back and added a red badge (as can be seen), and since the front pic was taken I've added a red front badge too. Added the necessities like a locking fuel cap and 3.5mm aux jack as soon as I got it, don't really fancy doing too much to it as I think she doesn't look too bad already (lucky I got a Dynamic). Considered lowering her but I have enough trouble with speed bumps already!

Also have to say, I feel sorry for you youngsters who've just passed with your sky high quotes... I'm 20 and never driven for the past 2 years, yet my insurance is under £600. The system is so unfair!

Sorry for rambling, hope you like her

Lovely looking car. My car is also named Phoebe haha. I always loved the sky dome. But funds weren't the best for me when I bought my GP 3 years ago so I got what I could knowing I wanted a GP. Of course I've made her my own now and wouldn't change her for the world... Probably lmao. Lovely photos as well.

Phoebe's the best name for a Punto! You've got the P for Punto, or Fibi giving you the F for Fiat

I wasn't really looking for one with the SkyDome, just lucky the used one that took my interest most had one and now wouldn't be without it

Hey tidy looking GP. Out of curiosity what mud guards are those? I tried fitting the EOM ones from FIAT to mine yesterday but with one supplied screw + washer for each side there was no obvious attachment. The main screw under the rear bumper wouldn't connect either. If yours are aftermarket then this is pointless :P

And +1 for getting her lowered if you can, even if thats the only thing you do to her...she'll look a million times better with just that one mod!

As far as I know they're OEM, the previous owner didn't seem the type to do anything at all to the car. I really think they complete the look at the back, although the front passenger side one has been rattling lately but I keep forgetting to look. I'll have a look how the back ones are attached when I take her out later

If on the flat of it facing backwards it has the "Punto" lettering in the black plastic of the guard itself then they are OEM. Far as i can see there is one screw underneath, and then two 'tab's that are placed behind the black wheel arch inner wall and then held down by the actual fastenings of the inner arch. So only one extra screw is provided and its long and black to compensate for the extra length the mudguard adds on. If that makes sense. I couldn't fathom it out yesterday. Had the car jacked up, wheel off and all screws on the floor but couldnt get it to fix on.

How are you finding the engine power?

By the looks of things the tops of them (they are OEM) are glued on, which I find odd but is the case on both sides and seems to be doing a fine job of holding them on. It seem the top/outer edge is glued vertically to attach it.

And tempz, finding it annoying when wanting to make a quick getaway then having the power 2 seconds after I actually wanted it, but I've found a way to make the turbo lag work in your favour: ask the ladies if they want to see how big your turbo is, then as you floor it in 2nd watch them get thrown back unexpectedly. Love it

Glued in. Haha, great. Either someone has some interesting DIY ideas, or FIAT have a cheeky way of making them fit on

Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

I count myself very lucky I came upon this one when I did, when I was buying it was between this one and a bogey green SkyDome-less 3 door, very happy with my choice.

Thought about lowering her initially, but since there are a lot of speed bumps round here and the fact she already skims the ground on some of them, I think I'd best not. Changed all the badges to red ones, wheel included, but I like the stock alloys and everything else. And I don't think grille vinyl looks so good on the 5 door. Any ideas?
