hi, just wondering if anyone knows exactly where the door sensor is for the interior light on a fiat punto mk2.

i have tried countless times opening and closing the door and the light stays on (the switch is to the right which is to turn off when doors are closed). i've tried passenger side door opening and closing also and same issue.

just wondering if anyone knows exactly where the sensor is as i've had a look and unable to locate it

thanks in advance

you dont say model of car because quite a few punto interior lights have dim down courtesy of the bsi
i would suggest you disconnect the light as the simple solution if it has or as suggested start replacing the door lock mechanisms due to a failed micra switch:)

There are 3 settings on the interior lights

fixed on
Center is the unlock/door open response light
fixed Off

make sure you on the correct setting
The problem is finding out which door is causing the error :( if its a 2door, its 50/50 hitting the right door

if your a 5dr, its a 1 in 4 chance in getting the correct one!

Sorry for opening a old thread but I have the same issue the settings on the light itself isnt the issue. As On is working, Off is working but when you have it set to turn on with the doors open it stays on aswell but not as bright as the "on" position its more of a dull light.

Any ideas on how I could fix?

Have you put an LED in the interior light ?

I have a Punto mk2, I wanted to replace the ceiling light in the cabin, to put an LED bulb. I bought a C5W LED bulb and inserted it, but it doesn't work. I checked the F39 fuse and it is not damaged.

Have you turned it round. LEDs only let current flow one way. so if its in the wrong way round it won't work.

I tried everything, turned it in all ways. I don't understand why it won't when my friend inserted the same led in Grande Punto and works for him.

are you saying your friend inserted your led into his car and it works for him? Have you tested your led on your car battery?
No i dont tested i dont know how.Yes,he inserted same led in his car and works for him.I order new cabin light and i will try then...

I didn't try the normal light bulb because the old one didn't shine well, so I wanted to replace it with led, the old one almost burned out. I checked the fuses, they are all ok, and as far as I know, F39 is responsible for that light only if there is no other fuse yet...
