Hi!

I've got a Marea Weekend, 1998 1.8 16V running on LPG and petrol, and recently the last big box on my exhaust exploded.
(it had a really badass sound for a couple of days  )

The problem is, i had to fit a working part on the car, because of the MOT test next week, and I've only found a 1.6 exhaust system.
The difference I see is the lack of the box after the cat.

My question is, would there be any drop in power, or would it cause any problems?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi, and welcome, :)

not 100% on the set-up you've had / got,
BUT the MOT issue is almost certainly;

NO leaks,
and working CAT(y)

as long as it's properly supported in the rubbers it should be fine, ;)
FLOW / performance.. no idea

look here for some more fitment info:http://eper.fiatforum.com/eper/navi...INT_MODE=0&EPER_CAT=SP&GUI_LANG=3&WINDOW_ID=1

you can scroll up / down for other views,
use the toolbar at top to find 1.6 info also,

looking at the ePER as long as it's the "dead-end" box with inlet +outlet at the forward edge it should work o.k.;)

suprised the EBAY places ( via poland) couldn't supply one - or was it a timeframe constraint..?- with the MOT looming.

Thank you for your answers!

I've fitted the 1.6 system on the Marea, it works as it should, it has a little subaru-ish sound during acceleration though. I bought it for like 20 USD.

I'm only concerned of the airflow, because some say that the midbox this system lacks, helps the exhaust gas to flow faster, and therefore the car would perform bettes (regarding the bigger 1.8 engine, it has a bigger system).

So long I could not notice any difference apart from the sound.

Sound with the airbox rubber pipe knee joint removed:
(surprised I've found a resonator box under it, shouldn't it only be there on the 1.6 engine?)
