These guys make some very interesting points about Tesla and electric cars in general. At present Tesla competes with the premium brands (BMW, VW-Audi, JLR) but soon enough they will take on the small car market. But the other brands are not even where Tesla was in 2013. They explain why that's such a big issue.
Tesla stocks are being held back by shorting their stocks, but as Musk never has any problem raising capital, he wont be slowing down very much.
Fiat.Chrysler has the chance to take the small car electric market for themselves but they need to move fast - really fast. I hope that concept Panda will happen, especially as Honda are producing a direct competitor styled after their 1970s Civic. Once Musk moves in he will own that market as well.
Also look at Jack Rickard who used to convert ICE cars to electric. He no longer bothers as a brand new Tesla costs less. He's doing other stuff instead.
He's a slowly spoken big American but he makes some compelling points about the adoption of electric cars.
