So, with this being a Fiat Forum, we should all own fiats right?

So what actually made you buy a fiat in the first place?

For me, I never liked fiats, infact i used to hate them. no particular reason, just didnt like the look of them, the puntos were too round and looked odd, the pandas were horrible heh.. and the coupes had odd wheel arches!

but one day i saw a gorgeous sporty looking hatch parked up in stoke on trent, went to have a peek and to my suprise it was a fiat. quite a big suprise to me at the time to actually think fiat could have made something so nice looking! It was a Stilo Abarth btw. Probably one for the first ones as this is going back around 3-4 years. I was then on the look-out for a first car and decided that ide have a look at fiats too cause the stilo was nice heh and I found my Uno! Best purchase ever :)

Got my cinq now and i have gone off all the cars I used to like and generaly wouldnt even consider getting another brand (unless a cheapo Delorean in mint condition came along :D )

Saw the silver cinq in a showroom, under spotlights all gleaming. Was so tidy, such a step up from the Polo I was driving, plus the alloys, leccy windows, sports seats etc. just made it a 'must have'. Never regretted buying it.

as marky said but since I was little, my Grandad has owned FIATs which has been a big influence. he had 2 Croma's and he had a Lancia Thema. My uncle had an x1/9 from new and he also had a top of the range Tipo when they first came out. He had a Strada too at one point. My Grandad used to get them as company cars for his business and I remember when I was a kid I spent a lot of time down FIAT dealers with him because I liked cars. I remember seeing and sitting in a Cinq in a showroom when it first came out. It looked so quirky but so cool. I had the same effect when I went to the regional launch for the Coupé launch and I was plonked in the drivers seat and thought wow, one day i'm getting one of these and it is still my plan and hopefully not too many years away.

One of my earliest FIAT memories was the handbrake failing on the Croma on the Isle of Wight. lol. nothing changes. hehe.

So really since a kid, it has been in me to own a FIAT. I have always loved them. Sooo much character. Also a big fan of the Punto mk2. Not much in the current range really grabs me at the mo though other than the Barchetta. Hopefully that will change soon.

I was wanting a Polo for a first car until night before I went to buy one, I was out in mates punto mk1 and was shocked at the space inside.

Being 6 foot 5 I fit in the punto Mk1's fine :)

I have noticed that FIATs tend to have tardis properties. There is a woman at work who is 6ft5ins and has legs up to my neck height (obv not literally!) and she drives a Sei comfortably. I'm 6ft 3ins too and im still not quite on the last seat click.

to be honest i drove my gf's uno and i wanted a fiat of some sort!

i wanted a mk1 punto but i got offered my uno and being a diesel it seemed the good thing to do also uno's look cool ;) (y)

Was going to look at a Clio, when I heard about my cinq for sale......went to have a look, was all good so bought it. Had my heart set on a mini for years, bought all the mags, clued myself up on A series engines and modifications, basic bodyworking.....but I couldn't find a car that didn't need superfiical work that was in my budget.

I'm well happy with the way things have turned out (y)

We settled on a mk1 Punto Sporting because it was for my wife and she liked one that she saw. It's perhaps a wee bit small for me, at 6' 6" I need the sunroof louvre slid back to get some of the headroom back. But that doesn't stop me driving it more than my wife does :)

I never really liked the look of the mk1 Punto, but it's definately grown on me. It was a bit of a trendsetter, nowadays loads of small hatches have similarly styled rear light clusters for example.

Being tall, I know when I need a hair cut because when I spike my hair, I feel it running along the ceiling when I turn my head. Great thing to get with car as standard; a gague to show how much you need a haircut!

Yoiks! Are Fiat drivers all exceptionally tall?? Am I the exception... I'm sure there's been a poll about this before...

What about big feet? Size 13 in a cinq footwell.........
