Does anyone know if there is an mpi version of the 999cc fire or how hard it would be to retrofit one off another engine.(disregarding ECU stuff as i would simply use a stand alone management)

Dunno...But yu could use the head and plenums from a Punto 75 (1242cc MPi FIRE) engine..

Nope, the 75's an 8v MPi head, the 85 is the 16v MPi Head.

I would bloody well hope they line up...I swapped a 75 head off and exchanged that with a 55/60 head and its fine...so I assume the same would carry for the 999cc head.

So any news if it works???? cause im either after MPi or twin carbs but twin carbs will be a ball ache. cause i was thinking off a punto 1.2 but then i'd need the ecu witch is set up for a 1.2 but mines a 999cc.

Sorry i never saw this thread again!!Yes it does work, you can't use the 1.2 ecu because the fuel AND ignition will be off. I used megasquirt, it's really cheap and completly reprogrammable with a pc/laptop.
