Ok as some of you know i´m in the "perfecting" stages of my turbo Panda the car should be pulling in the 150hp range, best 1/4mile is at 14.1sec(don´t want it much faster)and top speed at 236km/h(limited by gearing).
heres a link to times i posted:
https://www.fiatforum.com/old/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14067

Basically i´m just looking for who would be interested in a write up or even a complete kit to turbo the 1L fire engine(it can be modefied for any of them).

Edit:
If there is enough interest i´ll be tempted to offer a complete kit
(pricing would cover the parts involved and a little profit for me but not too much. Shipping would be extra)

Dono maybe, as long as i had your gps coordinates to send one of my nukes at you.:D
Really i´m actually seeing how much interest there is for a kit. I do know people want more power but don´t know how much, I´m going to check for pricing and post

Well smokeme, i would of course love one if:

1) I wasn't so poor
2) I wasn't going to university in a months time and won't have a car for 4 years :(

Dunno if it´s feaseble for the price, i´ve tried searching but can´t find the price of the turbo i used(IHI RHF3) but i could always offer a barebone and you could get the turbo from scrappy for cheap. I would need to fab a new manifold for the t2 and maybe power would bbe a little dif but it might end up costing around 200euros plus turbo should set you back another 100 or so from a scrappy:D.

I was just talking about that on msn, i´m thinkingg about testing it on a 16v but then i have to reprogram the ecu and i really hate timming maps[}:)]. Is that the 8v or 16v as i only have a working 16v. The 8v i have has a damged head. But it should be feasable depending on how much power you are looking for.

A turbo should add at least 50hp or more with low boost. Mine is running 7psi or 0.4bar and i got an increase of about 100hp. So your expectations can easily be met i just think you need ecu reprograming(when addind a turbo) then you should push for a bit more, it would be trial and error though so i´ll need to blow a few engines myself to know it´s limits and correct maps. It would be easier with fuel injection though.

If there´s anyone on this forum that could help with the fuel maps for the ECUs then i can see no problems in giving it a shot say 1bar of boost=30-50hp increase or so.:D It´s just that having to modefy the maps myself would really get things complicated as i never worked from a stock map before.

Sorry cant help mate never touched an engine exept from adding a K&N and exhaust :p. However From what i understand i think the ECU on the mk2 1.2L is self learning. It has sensors that read how much air is in the combustion mix and changes the amount of fuel it injects accordingly. I think! :p. Im phoneing up the dealer soon because mine is applicable for a ECU reprogram because of the recall so ill ask the engineer about it.

It wont learn that far though, it´ll need reprograming to add extra fuel to compensate for the huge amount of air going in!:D

Hmm...200 Euros + Turbot?

Yeah Id be interested. not immediately, but an overdrawn bank account is a good thing when a turbo is involved!

regarding help with ecu programming, mckcrich has developed a chip for the 1108cc 8v SPI FIRE unit (https://www.fiatforum.com/old/forum/pop_profile.asp?mode=display&id=3234) He may be able to help you out.

I'd be interested in a turbo, but not till ive got the head off my engine to see whats broken!

Its the same type of ECU in the 1108cc 8v.

Ive got one lying around (1242 8v ECU) and would be very happy to try playing with maps..if someone could advise me how!

Re: 999cc "fire" turbo kit . who´s interested?

If anyone has the experience necessary to help me reprogram the ecu then i´ll definetly try. Pricing might actually be cheaper then i first though. You should try an intercooler to get higher power levelsand maybe it needs an extra injector for the spi models(1242cc 8v are spi i think)because the stock injector probably won´t flow the necessary fuel. As you can probably guess i´ve been taking my 1242 apart to check feasebility;) . Yes it is feaseble, not sure of extent of mods yet. One question; how much space is there between the exhaust manifold and firewall/rad(depending on engine you´re interested in for turbo).

So far i´ve had people interested in turbos for these engines:

999cc fire(should work with any carb fire engine)
1108cc(got an email but don´t know from whom??)
1242cc 8v(seems like the most interest)
One word of caution is not to push the boost on the 1242 as this is a high-comp engine and will not tolerate very high boost(it will still make a lot of power but only with low boost or it´s a time bomb)
