Just watched Traffic cops tonight and all I can say is,

"Why do poeple still use their damn phones whilst driving?"

The truck driver featured had slammed into the back of a pale blue 206 at 60mph, he thought he had hit the dark blue Audi he crushed the 206 so bad. Why? Because he was playing with his phone.

That poor traffic cop who had to go and tell the parents of the girl killed by the truck driver.:( I would not want to do that. I couldn't, I'd cry.

It has to be one of my biggest hatred of the roads,

Driving and using a mobile.
Smoking whilst driving.
Drink drivers.
Driving with no insurance.

I have seen umpteen amount of people still driving and using their bloody phone, selfish moronic ****s.

The thing is they won't get caught, well hardly. Spot a traffic car, throw phone on seat. More unmarked traffic cops are needed, and alot more marked traffic cops are needed to catch these people.

Sorry rant over.

LOL.

i got a producer once and a police chase (was mint, took him a good 8mins and erm 10miles to catch up :p , was all on twisty roads, and his focus estate 1.4 was no match for the might of the 1.2 punto LMFAO), because he was on my side of th road, and I nearly hit him at 45mph, he though it was more, but I assure you it wasn't jus HE wasn't paying attention and driving like a clown.

seen loads of unmarked cars getting people on their way home from work on the A19 recently, some speeidng, some driving like cocks, some on the phone.

also saw a DVLA camera thing and two women with clipboards standing by the side of the A19. maybe the NPR camera system in action?? hope they caught a few

I think since the new law came into effect, with the 'stiffer' penalty  , people who use mobiles whilst driving have responded to the new law in the manner I expected they would...

Not paid a blind bit of notice...

It is THAT sort of behavior that really narks me off. I have spotted at least 12 different drivers, Old,young,Business men/women,men/Women and even a MUM with kids in the back seat  using their mobiles whilst driving. It is true enough that some people probably can drive whilst holding the phone to their face (if some have done it for years they have probably had loads of practice), but it's a lot like when you were a kid at school trying to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time. Now that we are all adults it seems like the games are crazier and as already mentioned the risks much greater to the likes of you and me.
I feel that the points on licence is a good idea, but the fine should be raised to £100 and if it is a repeat offender £250 and the funds if substantial enough could go to the highway emergency services (lets face it they have to deal with the aftermath of a mobile phone related car accident). I am sure that would make people think twice about picking up whilst driving or at least pull their vehicles over first then answer the phone like a sensible human being.
OR when the offender is stopped, they are fined, given points and cautioned. If they are caught at it a second time the sim card is removed from the phone and given back the Police on the spot confiscate the b*****s phone, wipe it's memory and sell it on but I guess that's getting too extreme!

The lunacy has to stop before more innocent people get hurt or worse....

Now i'll get off my soapbox:eek:

i havent used a phone while driving for years. it gets me annoyed when i see others doing it, especially when hands free is so cheap to buy.

many people dont think its dangerous so they think its another law that they can ignore. we all ignore some laws, even if its only speed limits, but everyone has their own ideas about which laws they should obey. its up to the individual, but they have to accept the consequences for their actions. the problem is that there is very rarely any consequence at all since you stand little chance of getting caught and even less chance of crashing. thats life.

also saw a DVLA camera thing and two women with clipboards standing by the side of the A19. maybe the NPR camera system in action?? hope they caught a few

see them a few times on the A19, checking for tax. i hope they catch plenty of tax dodgers.
