Blew a 44mg back at the station and if u get under 40mg u get let off.

I've already looked around for insurance quotes and they're around the £2k mark, which I can afford so isnt too bad.

Yes it was a 12 month ban reduced to 9 months through course and I think they said they're about £180.

Was funny in the court when they said my fine was £270 and would I be able to pay it within 28 days, I smiled and said I can pay it right now if u want :p

Getting the feeling you dont see it as a big deal (n)
Should be hanging your head in shame as a new driver already convicted of drink driving.

At the end of the day, drink driving, no matter how little or how much over the limit is stupid. A family member of a friend was killed by a drunk driver and I've seen the devastation it caused to their lives, something that those who get caught and get off lightly obviously are unware of when they see the 'funny' side of things.

Sorry, but only stupid bastards are fool enough to drink/ drive putting other peoples lives at risk as well as their own

Plus it takes a real man to say 'no' to alcohol. Real men don't need to drink to prove themselves... :shakehead

Dont worry guys, I'm sure you sleep well at night knowing that you know about every fact of every event of every crime commited. Were you there that night? No. Was I? Yes. If someone does something wrong, they get punished, no one is disputing that, but they do not need abuse hurled at them by people who no c0ck all about what went on.

Or do you think you know more about what went on then I do?

well all we can go on is whats posted.
no one forced the OP to post did they?
as said on the thread unless its life or death then really is no justification is there?
that amount is well over the limit so hardly a safe to drive scenario especially for a new driver.
the glib manner of the posts re the fine do nothing to help peoples views either

Then maybe they should be kept under wraps then so as not to contravine the rules of the place where they are posted?

Or is it ok to break rules and abuse people because you dont agree with something they did - and were punished for?

check my posts for abuse,if any posts in your opinion are offensive then report them via the report icon

right i come from a family of habitual alchoholics and drink drivers.
the last time my father did it was the last time i had anything to do with my family over 6 years ago.
i broke his nose for it so i think i manage my civility on this matter quite well

Done and there were none. You are cleared of all charges.

Doesnt change the fact you are not the only one replying to this thread does it?

As for conducting yourself in a civil manner, I dont see any demand to conduct yourself at all. Just as the OP wasnt, you are under no pressure to post here.

I'm sticking up for a mate who I see as a top bloke, and if anyone on this forum wouldnt do the same then I pity them.

None of us were there the night the 'crime' was commited. However, an adult of legal driving age is not forced to drink alcohol and then drive a vehicle whilst under the influence. That is their choice, so they commited the 'crime' by their own free will.

With all the publicity campains against drink driving including the more recent shocking adverts, what else do you call someone who still doesn't know when enough is enough? Just what is it going to take to get the message through?

Even more shocking was a report tonight on BBC South East about how many young newly qualified drivers are killed on London's roads, and just how many confess to drinking and driving over the limit. It seems it's going to take a bloody body bouncing off the windscreen to finally ram the message home, and I just hope that bloody body isn't mine, my family, my friends or anyone you know either.

the self confessed ex boy racer on radio 1 today explaining how his head smashed through the steering wheel whilst racing gave me a shudder.
died a few times and has basically got a rebuilt skull.
blind in one eye and partially in the other.
not mentioned but he wont be driving again

If I had a mate who was a top bloke I'd still call him a prick if he drank over the limit and tried to drive his car. I'll support my friends as much as anyone, but I will damn well would make sure they paid the price for something like drink driving.

went through training with a "top bloke", stood side by side in some sticky situations, watched each others backs, but i still called him a cock to his face when i found out he got the bullet for drink driving, and havent spoken to him since.

there is no excuse, there is no if or but, there is however a quite ghastly price to pay when you decide to behave in such a manner

and thats quite tame........

Look....I think is getting a bit out of hand.

I dont believe that drink driving is big, clever or anything else remotely good....I know I was in the wrong and I didnt think about what could happen as a result of my actions. I know that a lot of you feel very strongly about drink driving but I dont think that I deserve to be called a prick, as I just made one stupid mistake.

I dont find the fact I got caught drink driving funny, I merely made a joke about the fine.

I dont even think the court felt as strongly about drink driving as you lot on here, which I find disappointing, as they spent about the same amount of time asking me my monthly income and expenses to work out a fine.

the op broke a rule first, its against the rules to start a thread that might cause upset to other people

Did the original post have anything offensive in in the slightest? I cant see it if it does.

And its great to see people jumping on the band wagon against someone they dont know btw. Real motivating stuff
