I too have some sympathy, but this is not the first time he has posted with driving issues, and it was "not his fault" last time either. Last time he was given lots of advice, from people who do not know him, trying to keep him alive and well, but this advice was apparently rejected. Very disappointing. It would be great to see a post along the lines of "thanks for the advice, advanced driving going well, really learning a lot and enjoying driving more..". We live in hope.

Well I suppose all we can do is offer our advice but we cant make people follow/take our advice.

I do think the op appreciates the gravity of the situation now and I am sure he will learn from this expensive life lesson.

Where in his repeated statements of "its not my fault" did he give you that impression? The only thing that will bring it home to him is when one of HIS actions leads to a manslaughter charge and by then it will be too late for someone.

Well from once being young myself I suppose the "its not my fault" posts are what they are in that I believe most young people say those words as that is how they genuinely feel at the time but as reality sets in it becomes clear how the situation could have been avoided and what actions they did take contributed.

Nobody is perfect and nobody is immune from lack of thinking or making mistakes although from some posts it would seem that a select are and have never put a foot wrong or ever done something they shouldnt whilst or whilst not driving.

For the avoidance of all doubt I am not wishing to argue with anyone.

Regards
Stephen

Jesus, some of you guys. Leaving your friend in the passenger seat is not the same as giving someone permission to use your car.

Should I also not let a friend wait in my house whilst I run down to the 7/11 just incase they take the knives from my kitchen and go and stab someone?

I was taught to take responsibility for my actions, in this case and even after be told he's in the wrong by the Police (who aren't out to get youngsters) and numerous others continues to be in denial.

if that's directed at me let me put you straight on a few things, yes I've made mistakes, that's part of life. No I'm not perfect but I do take responsibility for my actions and always have. I have seen first hand what these 'silly, minor mistakes' can do to families when it goes badly wrong. Personally I would ban people like the OP until they have learnt responsibility as they have possession of the keys to a killing machine and to casually walk away leaving others with the ability to cause mayhem is irresponsible at the very least.

For the avoidance of all doubt I am not wishing to argue with anyone.
posted in the wrong thread then, didn't you?

Unfortunately while people like you casually accept this sort of behaviour, people like the OP will continue to fail to accept responsibility for their actions.

Obviously, I thought mature heads would prevail here! Then again I also thought we were dealing with facts here and not what ifs and what could have beens

Unfortunately while people like you

Would you please like to elaborate on this?

Seeing as you are so hungup on having an argument?
