Hi all i have had my car from new nearly 5 years now about 7 months ago i started to smell fumes coming throught the vents on start up and at traffic lights.I thought nothing of this until two days ago i went to work and noticed the car sounded like the exhaust was leaking so got my bro to check it out and i have a massive crack on the manifold and its gonna cost £650 for a new one as it has the turbo with it, Just wondering if this is because of the remap which i done three years ago putting more heat through or a weakness in the metal.

Probably just a weak spot on your manifold. I've been around here years now & never heard of that before on standard or re-mapped cars. Didnt happen on mine in 72k miles with a re-map & there are a few GPS's on here that have done 100k miles. See if it can be welded maybe?

Dan Bolts did this too and I believe one or two other early 1.9's (06 platers).
