Technical Broken GP help!!!

i know exactly how you feel, i had mine re-mapped at red dot, a month later turbo blew, unfortunatly sucking parts of the turbo into the engine and completly mincing the internals, i was bricking it tbh but luckily wasnt picked up on the diagnostics, other wise i would have footed the 5k plus bill (n) ...... phew its back on the road now still running its re-mapped ecu and 326 ft lb

thanks mate. atleast i have been honest which is the main thing. end of the day its a gp SPORTING so its meant to be used in that way, if it was meant to drivin slowly they would have called it gp bidy mobile :) ive heard a few times that there was a dodgy batch so hopefully mine is one of them and it wont go agen (fingers crossed) i get it back tomorrow so ill have to run it in 4 atleast a 1000 miles jus to be on the safe side. That is unlucky mate but atleast its ok now. hopefully our turbos wont go agen!! thanks for ur possitive comments you could ave turned round and said do1 uve nakered ur car up

Alright mate, I know the feeling too my 06 M-JET turbo blew up literally 10(crawling)seconds away from the M.O.T place. It still passed though

I didn't buy mine new so I don't know if it was battered before "I battered it too" but I learned from my mistakes.

In the end I bought a turbo from a 2007 M-Jet off ebay with 3000 miles on it and ever since, I have let it warm down cool down (what ever one is right) let it relax :) before turning it off and also drive without boost for a few minutes before I reach my destination.

To be honest, the new turbo felt alot better than the old one ever did.
(maybe it was dodgey, it was a turbo from the 06 batch after all ;))

I also fitted a silicone boost hose from the turbo to the intercooler so there is no suction/flex like in the standard overly priced one, a BMC panel filter and also fitted a de-cat on the turbo to stop back pressure.
(also to make it more free flowing)

In total I have spent £1100 in repairs since I've had my GP and that's not including the write off that my insurance paid for because the other guy had no insurance.

P.s. Mine went into Fiat and they did not detect the Re-Map, but the warranty was out (by 11days) so I wasn't paying them over £900 fitted.

What are you running Bhp and ft-lb ?

Keep us all updated

:)
