Is it just mine, or has anyone noticed the left door(s) are slightly out? That is, when they're closed, they don't line up perfectly whereas the right one(s) do.

At first I thought it was because my car had been hit, but it seems like a manufacturing thing, and I think its always been like that..

Not really noticeable - only someone as anal as I would be able to pick it up

Think I'll leave it for the smash repair guy to do it - car's going in soon anyway - knowing me I'll probably do more damage than good.

Bottom of my drivers side door sticks out slightly.

As its most likely a manufacturing "defect" I probably won't be able to get this done under insurance, so wondering:
  • How difficult of a job it is? Is it a quick & easy?
  • How much roughly would it cost?

****ing hell LuvDuv's you must be the most unlucky guy EVER.

I'm sure there're others who's had it worse - we probably don't hear from them cos they've sold their car in frustration

My car has the same problem. Going to body shop under warranty. They've heard of this problem before. Door is slightly bent!

So its a recognised fault? Mind posting some photos of your door(s)?

It would take more than a miracle to convince the dealers here its a fault covered warranty. I can so imagine the following if I raise it with them:

luvduvs: There's a fault with my left doors - they don't align with the rest of the body. Can you please have this fixed under warranty?
dealer: Sir, its the way the car was assembled in the factory - there's not much I can do about it.
luvduvs: Surely this can't be right - look at the right doors - they align perfectly with the rest of the body!
dealer: As I've said sir, its the way the car was assembled in the factory - there's not much I can do about it.
luvduvs: But others have had the same problem and theirs is getting fixed under warranty.
dealer: Who sir?
luvduvs: People on the internet who knows what they're talking about!
dealer: Sir we don't take what people say online seriously.
luvduvs: Listen mate, I want my doors fixed! (starts to get visibly upset)
dealer: Sir, I'm going to fall back on what I've previously said - its the way the car was assembled in the factory - there's not much I can do about it.
luvduvs: Fix my doors you @#%$@%@#%@%R@#%@# (starts swearing and punches the air like Rocky)
dealer: Sir, you're getting violent, I'm going to have to ask you to leave our premises.
luvduvs: @#%@#$^#$^#$^#%@E@#%#$^#$%@#&%^*&

5 minutes later...

luvduvs whisked away in a police paddy wagon, kicking and screaming..

Took some quick photos on my camera phone of the bottoms of my doors, left and right to show the difference.
