Fair enough, it was my risk and i choose to take it. We all take risks in our lives, i'm sure many of you on here have done abit of racing before.

try being called to an RTA where a boy racer flipped his car and killed a small child on the pavement. There was no other cars present on the road he was just going to fast.
This was a call that my mates dad, a traffic cop, had to deal with maybe you should consider this next time you racing on a public road.

Im nearly 22, and its idiots like these that give young male drivers a bad name. Im far from saying im perfect, ive not had enough experience to say im a great driver, but i have 4 years no-claims to my name and an advanced driving qualification. For you to openly admit that you have road races with your cretinous chav mates, and talk about how you have had mates crash beggers belief. How do you think this wont happen to you? I would hope to say that you crash, but you wouldnt hurt yourself, it would be the young family on there way home from a day out that you would kill. It sickens me that i have to pay such high insurance premiums to have a nice car because of being tarred with the same brush as you idiots just because of my age.

I hope for all our sakes that we dont come round a bend one day and youre coming the other way out of control after driving stupidly fast.

Completely agree with you,if people want to drive like that go to a track. I am the same age and it is annoying having high insurance primarily because of road deaths amoung young people.I don't understand all this talk of esp lights flashing and lack of grip round corners in the punto, it's never been a problem for me.

Most young lads go through a driving fast phase, a phase that is either ended by maturity and common sense setting in, or death.

I do apologise to those of you who have had to talk down from your pedestals today, it must have been difficult. But i'm sure you're not perfect.

I went through the stupid phase when I was younger, now I know better than to be baited by idiots who think they are better than me. I have nothing to prove to anybody on the road.

It doesn't matter what you say to people, they will drive how they drive until an experience comes their way that will show them otherwise.

I got hit by a woman driver going thru a red light taking my entire engine bay out in my old car.

You have to be more careful with people around you, watch what they are doing if you can avoid it. Otherwise in my case she came from nowhere at 60mph.

It's not always your fault. It's usually other drivers.

Ok so you never got taught that you have to be more cautious of other drivers fking up than yourself? It does make sense. how many times has someone pulled out on you? etc

If i was getting involved in so many 'nearly accidents' i would personally start thinking they might be my fault, being the common factor after all.

I would be the first to say I am not the perfect driver and I have had an accident that was my fault, the fact is I was never likely to kill someone because I wasn't driving excessively fast so when a mistake was made or blow out my accident wasn't fatal. It's all the deaths that put insurance premiums up hence why the punto is probably reasonable insurance group, it will be because your less likely to die not necessarily have an accident.
The truth is alert driving avoids accidents even if not your fault.

I'd consider an abarth if it come sout in the next 5yrs!!!! think it will need to be discounted though otherwuse i'll wait for the alfa mito

So.....Does anyone want an Abarth GP now?, lol.

Rich

i would have had 1 now or even on order at least in ss trim, but them disorganized Italian's still cant seem to get their act together.it seems they have released too,too many new models out in the past year =bravo,500 abarth(EUROPE)....HA,HA and are struggling with demand and have put the bravo and 500 as the priority which makes sense as they will sell more of:)but for what they have done with the grande punto abarth launch date is frankly amateurish and unforgivable to would be buyers:mad:as i have said before the gp abarth will be out of vogue before its even here in the uk if it ever does:confused:my god the gp 2008 facelift models will be here before the abarthtion (ABORTION);).so all gp m-jet drvers still own the top of the range grande puntos for the foreseeable future
