Re: Smear/film on right hand side of window

i used to get that! erm i just washed blade with a rag and washing up liquid

odd

Re: Smear/film on right hand side of window

I also had that problem - mine was last week.
I gave the blade a thorough clean which along with some heavy rain has cleared the problem.
Make the mistake of using the washer today though - instantly froze so I was forced to stop and scrape away!

Mine don't work unless you push the stalk downwards with a fair degree of force. Has been like this snce 'day one' with the car. Kind of got used to it now, the stalk will eventually snap, but sod it. Kind of goes with all the rest of the ****ty things wrong with my car.

Re: Smear/film on right hand side of window

will never use a scrapper on my window. prefer to have a scratch free window. lol de-icer will do the job lol

Re: Smear/film on right hand side of window

sign of a knackered wiper blade, i have a new one sat in my room waiting to be fitted but im going to see if the old one will last the winter as ice and snow wrecks the blade..

I use Rain-X which if used monthly-ish means i can drive in rain (above 45mph) without using the wipers.......

wipers are £11-£12 each from your Dealer or you can get them from shop4parts for about the same price (i live a fair way from the dealer) once you've added the P&P

is that the price for the BOSCHH aero wipers. thought they were more than that. my GPS came with the aero's as standard.

My choice I suppose. As I have stated in other posts, life is too short to spend a large chunk of it hanging about waiting for a dealer to may'be fix your car. Unless my car dies on me, it won't be near a dealer until service time, it can then spend about a week with them getting all the faults fixed, then I'll get shot, after taking Fiat and/or Arnold Clark to court. Only reason I posted on this thread was to share with others that I also have dodgy washers. Really don't need reminded what a warranty is. Also have stated in some of my earlier posts that my warranty may indeed not be valid due to poor advice from my selling daler and wrong advice in warranty and service booklet dated February 2006. However, don't wish to bore everyone again with my problems.

maybe there not boschh then but people call them aero wipers, are these as standard on the GPS

Had first service yesterday. While car was in, they ordered the washer mod kit. Hopefullt they will wash above the wipers when it is done.

Tommy save your money.

get a black cable tie,

cut aprox 2" long section out of the middle bend it in half and crush it with a pair of pliers to make it stay in shape so you now have a V of plastic.

Use a small flat screw driver and ease the washer jet towards the front end of the car,

slip the cable tie in with the fold going in first like this __ V_{==\___ to the gap and push down till its flush,

then remove the screw driver...

Job done :D
