Introduction
Me again
Been a long time since I posted here (except the 500 photos I posted yesterday
) but I still have a GT I'm rebuilding, albeit slowly.
I've got a selection of photos but there's loads more in the gallery. I can't be bothered to link them all as it would take forever.
Basically I picked up a new shell in 2010 after my last shell rotted away far beyond repair. I still have all the running gear from my last Punto(s) so I'm going to refurbish everything and swap it all over once I've welded up the chassis, caged it and fully track prepared it.
Cleaning off the old chassis sealant
The new chassis wasn't perfect (what 15 year old Punto is?) so it needed some welding. Far less than my last one.
I was going to use my original Coupe Brembo's but decided they were too heavy. So I bought some lighter Wilwoods. However I've now sold the Wilwoods too.
I also picked up a new subframe and petrol tank straps.
Stitch welding the chassis
Etch primed the welds
Then I moved onto the engine bay
That's it for now. I'm getting married in a few months so all my spare money is going into that. I'll hopefully start on this again later in the year get the chassis finished then save for the roll cage.
