I have a 2009 A Class Motorhome based on a 3.0 Ducato.
I have had an intermittent stutter/misfire that shows no fault codes or anything on live data.
I am going to send the ECU off for testing and repair if found to be the culprit.

My problem is access to the engine bay which is very limited. I have removed the 2 nuts securing the cover over the ECU but I cant see how it comes out.

I would be grateful for a little advice on what is securing it in place.

Many thanks.

All sorted now. 3 bolts securing the plate that the ecu is mounted on. Pulled clear of air filter and disconnected main terminals.

An update on the ECU ISSUE.
I sent my ECU to a company called ECUTESTING.COM. They said the ECU was faulty and not repairable and would I like it disposing of. I asked for it back but they have ruined it and it can no longer be accessed.

I have fitted a brand new ECU and the problem still remains and it actually seems worse.
The misfire seems to have a pattern whereby in occurs every 4 or 5 seconds as if something is cycling or opening and closing causing the splutter.

I am nearly at my witts end with this. Any suggestions are very welcome.

Also, check the throttle body. I had issues months before it finally died and gave an error code. Maybe record the issue/sound the engine is making and post it somewhere.
