Guys, has anyone else had this issue? Driving lights (front external)are on when ignition is switched on, but the instrument panel only lights up when I need to put headlights on. There are no sidelights to switch on. This means that sometimes in daylight hours I can’t see what speed I’m driving at. The (second hand)dealer doesn’t know; Fiat dealers want to charge me £139 JUST TO HAVE A LOOK. I need to sort this so that I don’t have to drive around with headlights on all day. Suggestions/info/pointers appreciated pls

That sounds 'normal' :)

My punto is also pretty dingy..
But I just live with it

I suppose you could have its backlight rewired so it has a constant live..

Or even introduce an LED..a bright one.. there for daylight.. that goes off when the proper illumination is switched :)

It's a setting in the system. You can choose to have the daytime lights on or off, but it only applies to the front 'side' lights. When you turn the main lights on the 'side' lights go off.

If you don't use your front fog lights...remove the bulbs from them or just disconnect them (don't worry they wont throw up an error) and press the front fog light switch. This will put on the side lights and your instrument lights without putting on your headlights.
