Hi Folks I have a 2013 Fiat doblo 1.6jtd.
On first start cold in a morning the engine starts and is lumpy as if running on 3 cylinders and a cloud of smoke, It clears within a few seconds drives fine no smoke no issues its just that first start.
I replaced all 4 glow plugs.
I am thinking its an injector issue sticking or fuel dribbling over night anyone else had this issue your comments would be welcome thank you.

Use an IR thermometer pointed at the exhaust stubs to see which one is running cold. That will be the one to examine. If it quickly goes to all four firing you might need to do a few cold starts to find the culprit.

I had this with a VW TDI. It always stated normally but had intermittent power loss. The sump oil fuel dilution was pretty serious so don't let it continue.

Hi

Check all 4 power leads are supplying 12 volts.. :)

The smoke is normal for a COLD cylinder..

But revs get it burning the fuel relatively quickly and then the heat builds

You can triggerspray water on the manifold..and see which branch is darker for longer
