Hello,I have an old pc P3 1ghz ,512 ram with 32mb Nvidia card in ,running ME.
My 7yr old son uses it for playing on so its low spec games.
To improve it I am thinking of getting a better? graphics card.
There are a few agp cards of between 64 mb to 256mb ,upto @£20.
What would be the best amount of mb to go for?
Thanks

Not sure on MB the pc is a dell dimension 4100.
Its an agp ,I think X4 but could be wrong.
Whats the differance between Nvidia 5200 and 5500 type of card?
Have seen 5500 with 128 mb for@£15 then a 256 for just £1 more:confused:
Thanks

i think the numbers are a chipset
so bigger the better

I wouldn't bother throwing more money at a PC of that vintage.. just be happy it's still running ;)

You probably wouldn't notice any benefit by changing the graphics card, a 32MB card sounds about right for that kind of system. If you fit a super duper card in, you'll just find a bottleneck somewhere else.

Better to put the money aside and put it towards a new system.. you can pick up a decent starter system for £200 these days, which will blow the socks off that 4100..

Cheers,
