any one selling a low mileage 899cc engine

i might be able to sort you one out in the week. Fingers crossed, we should have one coming in on part-ex at work.

I may have one, very tappy bit of an oil leak from rocker cover gasket think it has done 47k but you could have it for £30

Why do you need a new engine?

my engine is getting close to 90,000 miles on the clock and before it reaches 100 i want to have a clean newly refurbished engine done my self.

and then i want to but the new engine in the car. its just to guarantee it keeps on running and running

Ah, I see. That bodes well for my wee 899cc Sei then.

Remember that you'll have to do the gearbox as well, as that would have had 100 odd K of use too.................

i think theres a new one in that.

but its had a new clutch,

new cat and exhausts and allsorts

AFAIK that car is on the original Gearbox....the amount of dirt on it would imply that it is, and theres nothing in the service history AFA I Can Remember about it having ever been replaced. New Clutch ~ 82K miles IIRC. a good weekend for my swear box that one )

If youre serious about rebuilding an engine.....The mileage doesnt matter that much as once its all torn apart and accurate checked, if its out of specification, it'll need machining...and that can happen on any engine regardless of mileage!

I do think that i would like a new engine in there which is nice and clean and painted as well as red tubing covering all the wires and tubes. This is cause i think the engines that have this done and theres no oil showing or anything like that look ten times better. Regardless of how underpowered the engine is.

and then i would like all the electrics checked as well. Seem as its looking at me not being able afford a new car for a few years, i may as well change the engine instead.

What's the engine like at that mileage, is it starting to sound old? They usually go on for a ages time if looked after. You'll probably find that rust will become a problem before the engine does.

I've got an 899cc Sei, and am wondering what it'll be like in 50,000 miles time. It's on 44k at the moment, but it's not for sale.

the engine is absolutely fine at the moment but for its 100,000 mile birthday i think i want a new engine in there

a new 100,000 miles a newly refurbed engine.

the car has no rust on it what so ever and the body work is ten times better than some of me mates cars and most of theres are atleast 5 years younger than mine

i could b possibly selling mine its done about 55k, just passed mot, No major faults, very god runner, done me very good. Im possibly moving on to a bigger car, but not sure yet.

mine is a
N REG- 899cc- white only 1 previous owner, the only major repair i've had was the driver door had a dent in it, and i got a 2nd hand replacement, perfect colour match but very very slight dent on it
