All the wasted space on the drive. So much potential!

I've been doing my best to fill it what with having four cars - just not all in the same place!

It really wants a double garage but there isn't room, though a carport could go at the other side of the house.

Looks like I'll have to get another detached bungalow just to have enough room for the fleet

Lots of semi's round here have yours and your neighbours drive next to each other and are open plan, which isn't very good for the dog, but is great for getting parking dings on your own drive

Cinqy is having his first "Yorkshire" MOT tomorrow, had a look at the old 'stifcut and it has a few advisories for corrosion around the suspension mounts and brake "ferules" whatever they are.

I haven't had time to check it out and the thing is so low on the ground I can't even get my head under it so it will just have to go as it is.

# note to self, only buy cars you can get under in future (what about the 100HP Panda? - That will be fine, it's an imaginary car so far...)

Ok so as things go it ain't that bad for a bargain ebay purchase.

Needs a CV boot and a rear bearing, garage will be doing the work and for a reasonable sum.

Mechanic was impressed with the overall condition and it's sound underneath (y)

I will treat him to Fizzles stereo as a reward for being a good little FIAT :D

If it was just the bearing I would have done it myself after looking at the guides.

rear bearing is really really easy on these too, but you will prob need a good breaker bar to get the hubnut off.

Well I don't have any decent tools and wouldn't trust myself to do it right anyway

Saw it on the ramps with back wheel off and drive shaft on the floor tonight when I walked the dog.

Hopefully have it back tomorrow morning - there's a big gap on my drive and I don't like it!

Oh Yeah!

Cinqy's back home with new CV boot and rear hub fitted - no more drumming at speed!

All the old advisories have vanished but one for a front alloy has appeared.
I just thought they needed balancing! I have a spare alloy and two pirelli tyres, when I've got some spare time I'll have them swapped over.
Now pirelli's at the front - nankangs a the back?

I always put the best tyres to the front but read somewhere I've been doing it wrong all these years

i have no love for pirellis i gotta say. I think its XR11 or something nankangs that are ok - i wouldn't call them good but they are much better than the old 'hedge-finder' nankangs.

When it comes to which to put where i would go for the ones with more tread at back, then when fronts need replacing move them to front and stick new ones on rear.

Cinqy had developed an annoying rattly, thumpy, sounding really odd exhaust noise - I think it's the exhaust rattling about underneath although it looks to be securely held on.

It's worst when accelerating from a slow crawl, really bangs about.

The garage is going to have it on the ramps wednesday morning, I hate that I can't get under it :(

I'd guess rear gearbox mount has gone (or has weakened to the point it's useless)

often sounds exhausty (great word) because the added rotational movement of the engine backwards and forwards under load actually moves the exhaust enough to clank it off the heat shield. That's alongside any thumping and clanking from the mount/bracket assembly)

That sounds about right, I'll get the garage to confirm and replace.

I checked out the guide and it looks a bit tricky for me to attempt.
