Hi all, so again, I´m putting together some fast cento.

My previous work:

maybe you remember.
Now the car has got 128bhp :)

So, since I have nothing to do, I decided to built another cento.
So I bought Yellow one for regular price...

Nothing special, just serial cento. I haven´t yellow one owe yet.

Problem was hot start.. So I found some ancient alarm system and immediatelly kick out..

I had some better brakes from Uno Turbo, ...

And here is the donnor. Punto 75HSX

Some polishing

..and some drag racing :D

..anyway, it´s current position

Engine preparation for removing. That´s what I like on Cento. It´s always funny easy and I can pull engine myself.

Oil everywhere

..some weight shedding

MPI intake slightly modified. Brake servo now coming from another place, because old tube is hitting heat shield, so now shouldn´t be prolem.

Some meassurement, some hammering, TB 8V MPI compare with 16V Punto and 16V Bravo...

pict_20130522_181854.jpg

...and few hours later, here is result. Adapter from Bravo 1,6 16V TB (48mm) to serial intake manifold 8V MPI. Good thing is, it´s also 48mm. So Airflow should be laminar. And one more advantage. You can install any hose from Fiat directly on TB.

meanwhile serial engine is out.

..now for the hard part.

I had 6speed gearbox from Stilo without differential (or with, but it was smashed on 1000pieces) So I´d like to put it to Cinque transmission. Horewer Stilo has got removable differential on screws, Cinque (Punto doesn´t have. That´s what I realised moments after I disassemble gearbox :(( )
Stilo Differential was 14/57 (4.08) Cinque 15/58 (3,87)

So anyway, I cleaned out and assembly back.

pict_20130525_120104.jpg

I remove all holders, plates, etc and put into bag

pict_20130525_120122.jpg

and went for sanding procedure...

pict_20130528_112156.jpg

..meanwhile I cleaned 75HSX engine
pict_20130526_124108.jpg

..and some marine color for everything :)
pict_20130528_214413.jpg

and some bushing from Poland arrived (same quality like powerflex, but much more cheaper)

pict_20130531_163236.jpg

and finally I print out (I have 3D printer) prototype for TB spacer :)

pict_20130531_163311.jpg

So I´d like today to assembly engine together with gearbox and holders, but I don´k know how in England, but in Czech There should be approx 20-25°C and sunny (or partially cloudy). But it´s raining for 2 weeks now and no stopping. So I have time to insert this thread, because you can only sleep or browse internet. I will continue tomorrow....

Anyway, today´s weather is really not optimistic, I did few steps..

16V TB with my spacer adaptor.
There is one mistake...
I thouhg screws will be 45deg to body, actually they are 50deg. So Italians are very crazy... anyway it fitted perfectly...

another look

No problem with 3D printer..

that´s all for today...

great little project. I still not owned a yellow one yet

I'm worried about clearance with the bonnet with that mani/tb/spacer arrangement, bearing in mind it will need an induction kit of sorts on top as well - have you checked for clearance?

Sorry, I mean that I never had Yellow cento :)

Actually, this clearance is 20mm less than standart MPI TB. Using 90 deg hose and there will be still plenty of space. :)

And after instalation, I have better idea of this spacer, so EVO2 spacer will be shortened for 5mm...

Turbo it! I am serious, you are certainly capable of that, mechanically more than me I am sure. And this engine is soooo easy to put a turbo on

Hi Woj :)
Well, I though about it :) First, I need put cento into good condition.
In plan is general repair of suspension and rust. So this year I should run with MPI only. But maybe when long winter comes :))) who knows ;)

Actually I tried every engine possible to mount into cento without any big modification.

1,1 1,2 8V 1,2 16V 1,4 16V. My opinion is, I don´t like 16V engines too much.
But what will happen in future, I really don´t know...

Suspension is coming next week and this year I´d like to enjoy it as much as possible.

Turboing is not impossible, Only problem is software for stock ECU. I don´t want to install MSIII. Only problems...

By no means install MS whatever, I fully agree (y) But, you have the comfort of being close to Poland and a mate of mine that can get you running on the stock ECU with my program. Exactly as I do ;) If you ever want to go the turbo route let us know (y)

Thx mate. As you can see, I´m always finding things that can be done another way than others. That´s why you are maybe curious about my TB16v installation. Friend of mine is installing Uno 1,3Turbo and another 1,6 16V but I like to have my cento in serial shape for normal using (sometimes).

You guys are for exp. using non water cooled turbo which I don´t agree. But bigger water cooler will be needed when adding another water circuit (I had some problems on 1,4 16V with serial cooler when running on full throttle)

So, I have many experiences, but this cento will gain them slowly...so I can´t say if I´m going to turboing or no, what I can tell is that it will be unique :)

And next friend of mine is capable to change map on dyno.

And, I will run it on stock ECU. P75 ECU not needed.

Not really true - I am running water cooling for my turbo and so do lots of folks in PL that want to keep their turbos for more than couple of months.

Yes indeed, the Cinq system is on the edge. But you can manage it (almost) easily. Three things are a must: a cooler thermostat, oil cooler, and a rad fan override switch. On top of that a bigger radiator if it fits. Last time I had problems with cooling on my turbo was climbing Alps with my car on a 28+ deg. day. And even that was not destructive, I went up, went down, and drove back home 1000km (y)

For normal driving I have Lancia Lybra and Alfa 156 so I will not pass this long range trips with cento. Partially of extra hard suspension and extra small wheels. In Czech, Roads are really terrible.

Anyway, I will be glad for any advice. One thing. Many of you has got on stock front bumper additional (approx 40mm) bumper. Which car is it from?? I like it...

:D Well, that´s true. And not so big plant, only average size :)))

Actually, I think to repaint it to navy green (you can see my painted parts - I like this colour)

But if that will happen, it will be eventually later... :)

I´m now father and I´d like to build family house so there are another priorities. Not only cento. Horewer I´d like to spent as much as free time possible ;)

And Blue metallic cento will be always the best colour...

Last edited:
:)) so you know Czech... poor guy ;)
In Poland, cento is very famous. In Czech there are 4 fast cento and all are made by me :))) Another are serial or tuned but with stock 1,1 engine... Luckily some enthusiasts emailed me and they are maybe more crazy than I am :)

Well, there are a lot and better 3D printers than fabbster, horewer for good equipment quality and price is Fabbster very good indeed.

For example, this adaptor is running at high quality bud 160% speed for 5hrs and 20mins ;)

on 1,4 I don´t like it´s not revy engine. Big stroke x bore ratio....
1,1 is the best in it. Also, I don´t like that you can not have belt cover on 16v engine in cento... And 16V ECU is more "eco" so actually it can beter run on 75 or 55... 1,2 (8V or 16V) is on border of revy - not revy. My opinion is that 1,4 16v is max 6200rpm, 1,2 max 7000 1,1 8000 rpm. I´m talking about engine propositions, not top (cam) etc...

nice project :)
any chance you could let us no where you got the bushings (y)
