My car has had problems going into gear lately so i adjusted the clutch cable and everything was fine!!About a week later the cable went BANG so i thought check the clutch,which my mate did today and this is what he found,The clutch release bearing had eaten nearly all the way through the clutch cover,the actual clutch itself was fine,So if your car is busting cables on a regular basis it might not just be the cable.

im afraid that may be the cause if my third clutch cable this year how much did it cost you to do?

I got the clutch through work about £52 and my mate fitted it fot £55 inc new gearbox oil but a local garage quoted me £265

Tosh, Julio_Scorchio, discovered that his clutch on his 1242 turbo had suffered from the release bearings rubbing on the fingers.
